Well, can it automatically install it in the correct place for the user? I'm trying not to make them have to do it.
-
Does anyone know of a good installing tool? Can't winrar do this or something and put the dll in the correct category? Or will I need some other installing program? Can anyone share how they have solved this problem?
((Also, offtopic but what is "Rep Power" under my and everyone else's pic?))
-
It doesn't do this automatically?
So how can I "detect" where to put the *.dll ?

Help! When I create a standalone *.exe on my computer it works, but on other computers, they say that they are missing CNCS232.dll !
Please tell me how to fix this...

Wait what? More Dark Basic compilers or more "basic" as in simpler ones out there? Either way it seems like I would be sticking to MMF now and the more I think about that, the better I like it

I know I don't normally jump into coming/going threads, but this feels appropriate to me: we've finally gotten our internet connection re-established and I can come here regularly again. ^.^
Sure thing my thread is your thread
I feel happy that we inspired someone! I like you. You seen like a cool person and all. So, welcome to our cult of doom!Wow, thanks for the compliment! I'm glad I'm here, and I'm happy that I made someone happy for this site inspiring me
I would recommend MMF as a middle road between 'template-based' game makers.Hmm thats nice! I also tried Blitz Basic's demo and didn't like it at all.
I think its time for a new start. I'm switching back to 2d and will be using MMF to power my dream. I just started messing around with MMF and its really neat! Its not hard to understand either! But of course, I'm counting on you guys to help me too ^_~
As for my 3d days... well maybe I can make cutscenes or something with my models... If I can ever figure that out.
-
Nah, its gone but Blitz Basic caught my attention.
If that doesn't work I have a very good feeling about MMF. Its time to make a new start! ^.^ Everyone seems so nice here too.

Thanks guys, and my models worked 100% but my DarkBasic Pro games wouldn't run correctly on any other machine
But MMF is a powerful 2d game maker? It looks like alot of people are having fun with it! It looks fun

Try UnFREEz, its free. All you have to do is drop all the frames in it and it will animate it in a *.gif!

I'm not sure if this is in the correct forum, but I think I made the right choice ;
I just thought that I'd introduce myself because I'm new to this site. I just want to share my story and how I came to this site:
I've always had a dream to make some Sonic fangame. I have tried many programs, GameMaker, TGF, MMF, Dark Basic, Dark Basic Proffesional, RPG Maker 2k/2k3... In fact, years ago it was this very site that inspired me. I wanted to create a Sonic fangame from its variety of resources! Years ago, I tried to create a Sonic game with TGF and failed miserably.
I deleted everything that had to do with that project and moved on. Years later, I am now in college. My roommate has Dark Basic Professional on his laptop. He said that I could use it to make a 3d game! I found it confusing at first but I overcame many obstacles! I had pretty much a full sonic 3d movement engine and had animated lots of 3d models. I even attempted to make a Sa2 Eggman from an oldschool Eggman model I found on the net. (Though he doesn't look to good in my opinion).
I had been working on it for months and when the time to test it came on other computers.... It was a failure. You have no idea (or maybe you do) how that felt. I felt rejected. So close of achieving my dream (In 3d no less!) and I had been rejected by the software. Now I just have a bunch of animated 3d models sitting in my computer using Milkshape.
I felt so bad and was just wandering Sonic sites when I stumbled across this site again. I felt... renewed... like I had hope. I know for a fact my Roomate recently bought MMF (or rather his Dad did!) Now that I am older and know more about game making. Maybe I can achieve my dream with MMF! Maybe I can somehow mix in my 3d models to make good cutscenes or something! I dunno I think Jamagic does 3d games too but I don't know if its any good so I'll stick with MMF for now. Is MMF powerful? I haven't even messed with it yet.
I'm so glad that I've come back to to this site. When I found this site, I caught myself thinking... maybe... just maybe I can achieve my dream someday...
So hello guys!
