If you need your files right now, pull out the hard drive and connect it elsewhere.
Look for the part number of your charger and search for alternatives.
I got a pair of replacements for my Toshiba for $20 each (down from $80), and it's the legit original model! Keep looking around.

There's a chance of me getting a new laptop and it turns out I backed up about four days ago (unless corrupted then before the graphic update) I'll see what I can do after I speak with my dad and get lucky.

In that case, I recommend you to get a 2.5'' HDD enclosure. Take out your old drive , put it in there and BAM, you now have a nifty external drive.
