I can't really be interested in this since all we have to go by is "it exists and it has a name" But for some reason I just feel like the game's going to turn out bad...
I think it might be because they won't let sonic 3 ios happen because they don't want another department of their company to seem more competent then their main one or something and the last game they made was a poor mans mario galaxy.

From the level design in the video it looks like it'll be pretty fun.
I look forward to seeing more of it!

That seems like a very bizarre crossover choice.
Out of curiosity what made you decide to start it?

The fact that it takes 5 minutes to speed run the first level of this game makes me scared to see the rest of the game.

I'm really sorry about that, I tried my best to reduce any kind of lag I could but I believe this might be a problem with game maker itself or something else I'm not seeing.
I've said it before the only solution I know to see if the game will run any faster is to reset your computer but I know this isn't a solution that'll work for everyone.
If anyone might know a solution please let me know as I want to to let as many people possible play this.
I also want to thank everyone else for the support, seeing my game on the front page was the best part of my day.

well what if they redid them all like sonic generations and sold them in one pack? o-o
again it would probably be a anniversary thing.
Wasn't Sonic generations already an anniversary title?
For me I think Generations was enough of a remake and I'd like to see something new from the series. (that isn't boom)

Well first of all, if you didn't play the game yet, I don't think you're in a position to say that it has poor gameplay. It's different, yes, but this game isn't targeted for the retro audience. You would think people would know this by now.
But I didn't say it's bad because it's different though.
This is exactly what I mean when I said that. I said it had poor game play because of the people I follow saying from their experience with the demos and the game play trailers were boring. I never said it was bad because of how the previous games have been set up, I even said I was interested in the 3DS version because I heard good things about it.

It looks like they just went into Metals old model, stretched his legs out and called it a day.
I really wanted to like this game but the more I see and hear about it the more I hate it, and I think the developers know that people aren't liking what's there as they've shown almost no game play in the new trailer and the speed segments look like "press the button at this point, good now do it again" over and over again.
I read that the 3DS demos were good so I'll just stick to that I guess.
Also it's really bothering me that people are using the fact that this isn't a main series title as an excuse for poor game play.

So I've been making some decent progress with this recently.
I'm planning on releasing a scrap brain demo around Halloween to make up for the fact I didn't have enough work done in time for Sage.
I'm also shifting focus to just finish Classic mode before I start work on remix mode or any of the other game modes.
also something I've always wanted to do when I see these.

So I was playing through the level, (I can't remember the name) I got hit by the spike ball then squished into the slide, and I was stuck in the wall.
Also in Tidal Tubes Tails is in the air when on those spiny things,
and as Knuckles I jumped into the air at the end of the level, started gliding and when I reached the edge of the level I dropped into the bottom of the level.
Other than that it's a good game so far.

The menus and everything are awesome.
Unfortunately thats all the feedback i can give, the game runs about 5 frames on my laptop.
This happens to me with Gamemaker exes at random,
all I can say is reset your computer and then try running it again and hope it runs better.

Aw...that sucks. So, is this an original fan game then or another remake?
All I'm going to say is it's not a remake.
I'd like to get more work on it done before I show what it actually is.

I'm not going to spoil what it is but it isn't a remake of SEGAsonic, sorry.
Although SEGA sonic is a relatively small game I might do it as a quick thing to tide over people waiting for this.
This is lookin pretty great. Bridge Zone could use a new background, and I say you should give Labyrinth Zone a background more akin to that of the 8 bit version.
I'll think about it, I'm better with small graphics then I am with larger ones which is why the background kinda sucks...

Since Sage is near and I can't attend this time, I've made a progress video showing the things I've gotten done since then.
I hope this address some of the issues that were brought up after the first demo.

I'm not sure Sonic 8-bit remake will be able to make it this Sage this time, I thought I'd have a lot more work done but I've been busy with some other things.
I might release a video or something of progress so far but I don't think I have enough time to prepare a demo.
I wish I could do more though...
