  1. @Serephim

I don't think the Wii U version is actually faster, it just feels faster for some reason. (which is 200% fine by me) Controlling it with a 3DS makes it feel 3DS speed again. But that's just my opinion, I dunno if it's actually faster or not.

And yea, the blast zones are a LOT closer than the 3DS version.

I'm still attempting to main Lucina, which is working out... Ok-ish... I've always sucked with Marth, but for some reason I'm REALLY good with Lucina. I dunno why, considering Marth and Lucina are practically identical.

    -------------------

    So I have 5 mains

Villager, Charizard, Lucina, Sonic, and King Dedede. Does that even count as mains at that point? I use them all equally, so.

  2. A point in the right direction:

Make the star the same object, but make the first alterable value called ID

At the start of the frame, spread the alterable value ID

Every time one is collected, add to the total of stars you collected (which would be a global value), remove that specific ID from the level forever, and save that you collected said ID to an ini file or something.

So, using the saved data from an ini file, at the start of the frame, destroy all of the stars that match a saved ID

  3. So, my favorite cereal is peanut butter crunch. Thoughts?

An interesting choice, to say the least. Honestly, in my opinion, Peanut Butter Crunch offers a quite generic taste, that tastes very similar to other peanut butter-type cereals. If for some reason I was in the mood for a peanut butter flavored cereal, I would choose a generic-brand cereal instead of the name brand to save a buck or so. Perhaps it will be on buy-one-get-one, you never know what kind of deals you can get with the off-brand.

Personally, Fruity pebbles offer a much more diverse, unique flavor and texture, especially when compared to Peanut Butter Crunch. As I said before, sometimes I get the off-brand to save money, and rarely, the off-brand tastes better than the actual Post product. Other cereals that offer a better experience than Peanut Butter Crunch include Honey Combs, Honey Bunches of Oats, any Rice Krispies variation, and Corn Pops. However, these state my opinion, and tell nothing of fact. As a side note, I prefer the flavor of Soy Milk in my cereal rather than Milk produced by a Cow. Perhaps this has an affect of my opinion of the cereals I enjoy.

  4. See, this is good. Those songs are legitimately similar.

This first few times you posted, you were accusing songs that were essentially remixes of being lazily composed. This is different, those songs are legitimately similar.

I didn't "yell" at you, I just corrected you. Which is OK, this is the internet, get used to that. It's healthy. Critique is ALWAYS healthy, whether the critique is good or bad.

But yea, thank you for contributing, and please don't feel afraid to post in this thread :D

  5. I highly reccomend watching this video, it essentially says what I WOULD say here, if this video didn't say it for me.

I think the video would be much better without the gimmicky chat sections, but nonetheless, it makes good points.

Basically, Melee wasn't the game Massivehero Samurai intended it to be, so he "fixed" it.

And guess what? Melee still exists. The Metagame can still play melee, it still exists. Plus, look at Project M. Who's to stop them for doing the same with Sm4sh if they wanted?

Plus, why not adapt to the current game? I'm sure brawl and Sm4sh have some sort of crazy exploits the metagame haven't even bothered to discover, because they're still too busy arguing about Melee.

  6. I picked up the game yesterday.

I don't have much to say about it, except for this:

The starting roster is HUGE! I was overwhelmed! I didn't know who to pick! I wish the starting roster was MUCH smaller, and you had to unlock more characters. That would make the game WAY more fun, I love unlockable characters. It sounds like a weird complaint, I know, but seriously. It would have been way awesome to unlock a highly anticipated character like greninja after working hard for him after a while.

The physics are in-between melee and brawl, just like they said it would. I played a LOT of Project M before this came out, and I don't really feel a difference when I'm not actually looking for one. This is VERY good in my book.

My mains are still the same: (In order from use the most to least)

    DeDeDe

    Samus

    Kirby

    Sonic

I haven't had the game long enough to say a whole lot about it. Overall, it's pretty awesome, and online play is good.

  7. Woah woah woah. First off.

Use list mode. The checklist mode is really hard to use and confusing. The list mode is WAY easier to read, and is more like traditional code.

    Second

Don't worry about a homing attack yet

    ;)

It may just be in the next sonic worlds update, coming relatively soon.

Edit: Also, you're using worlds 1.2? Mind if I ask how come?

  8. Great to hear that. But aren't you suffering from info overload? LOL

It's because users like me a s***load of topics.

Make sure to take care of each detail: for example "how to make a boss with infinite Xscroll/Yscroll"; "add powerups"; "add boost and boss health gauges"; lots of etcetera.

    Suffering from info overload? Wat.

"how to make a boss with infinite Xscroll/Yscroll": No. There is already enough info on this. Just make a treadmill and make auto moving parallax. Done.

"add powerups": Depends on what you mean...

"add boost": Maybe the next update just might feature... Nevermind.

boss health gauges": This is incredibly simple. When you make a boss, it should have internal health anyways, so just make a counter with the horizontal bar property, and set it to the HP of your boss.

The guide will feature plenty of info...
  9.

They made an animation for that

That is not what I would call lazy. I don't get why anyone would call smash lazy just because they did a few things you didn't like.

There is so much work, and detail that it's pretty unbelievable. I would imagine there is so much coding for each character that it's ridiculous.

And have you even played the full game?

  10.

Isn't necessarily a musical similarity, but close enough.

I just discovered the techno voice in the beginning is most likely SAM from the Commodore 64.

Also, does anyone else know what the other samples are from? Especially the one where it sounds like the guy is saying "lay in the wax, spin in the center"

  11. Wow, I've played the demo for like 3 hours now.

I play with my CPU's at level 9, because that's as high as it will go, and it's about as good as I am.

Like, I always pick a character, then i make the CPU random.

Wtf, i have gotten pikachu consistently. I have literally gotten only pikachu as my random CPU opponent. I've counted a total number of 47 level 9 pikachus fought and defeated.

Anyone else getting pikachu, and only pikachu when fighting??

Also, villager is OP. That recovery move though, that thing can get out of anything and kill yourself on the top part of the screen, if the game let you.
