  1. Then enforce counterpick rules. Pick whomever you want, after first match, the loser is allowed a counterpick, winner keeps the character. Same with stages if you want to go farther. Forbid the same map being played in one set, or just keep only tournament viable stages on random and use that instead to avoid intentional stage counter picks. Battlefield, FD and Smashville are what i'd call tournament fair stages, but 100% platform-less stages are certainly biased. But trying to artificially widen the character choice like that is pretty weak. That's a pretty horrible tournament rule.
  2. ....Oh boy. Eugh....ohhhhh.....*pukes* Final Destination is very far from a universally balanced stage. You should, at the very least, include Battlefield in the lineup. What the...what is the function of this? Why are you locking characters out? They aren't limited resources. What purpose would forcing a player to a character possibly achieve? I can assure you, with 100% certainty, that 4 stock matches on 3DS are going to be determined by the timer. The blast zones are 6 miles away. Just do 2 stock + best of 3 matches or First to 3 wins. Some more of my bad opinions: - Free-For-Alls are stupid matches, between people who want to win, they ALWAYS result to camping strategies, and they favor specific characters. They're worthless in tournaments, absolutely worthless. - If you're going to have 4 players on the field, make it 2v2, turn on Team Attack, remove the items. Otherwise it's no different from a free-for-all and just encourages camping and spamming. - If your tournament has team matches, your teams need to enter as single entities, win as a single entity and lose as a single entity. In other words, choose one or just do 1v1s.
  3. lets play a more fun game lets talk about games that are better than sonic games
  4. I've beaten Sonic 2 more double the amount of any other sonic game, and I had a hard time noticing any real differences between the genesis version and taxman remake. It's pretty irrelevant. Anyway i've been against the whole "1:1 sonic experience" thing when I developed the biased idea that fangames have all become boring because of it. In the least, Sonic Hacks avoid one usual issue that fangames have, which is being underdeveloped or buggy. They more commonly feel complete because they're created with pre-determined limitations on what the creator can add. Also, I laugh at the concept of Taxman's remake being an official sega product...there's some sweet irony about it that i just cant put my finger on.
  5. oreos and resees are 2 delicious things that are only good when untouched
  6. http://www.thejimquisition.com/2014/11/sonic-boom-rise-of-lyric-review/ im dead
  7. The water jumping sections where you fall and have to run left for 10 seconds are really annoying. Please don't ever do that again. There isn't much to do in the stage. I'm just kind of holding right, jumping and then falling in water pits. It's fun when i am doing stuff though
  8. I think the difficulty change for classic was pretty dope, how losing permanently lowers the difficulty for you. Smash has long since reached the point for me where i really only enjoy playing it with other people. Subspace was terrible, i was hoping for another adventure mode but whatever. Feels like alot of things have clearly suffered from 3DS development.
  9. Well on paper, Lucina's sword strikes are about 1% stronger than Marth's sourspot strikes, while Marth's sweetspots are on average about 2-3% stronger. I've KO'd people from the stage floor at like 60% before, something I've only ever accomplished with Lucina either by off-stage gimping or successful shield break. Edit: Yes, standardization is a word. Edit: and 60% from the stage floor on Wii-U. That shit is unheard of on 3DS.
  10. The closer blast zones are enough to make me never care to touch the 3DS version ever again. I was going to stick by Lucina, but she's literally just a bad version of Marth. I wouldn't mind playing a crappy character, if there wasn't one that was identical, yet better in every way. I don't believe even a bad marth player would do better with Lucina. She's just weak. Hurts, but oh well.
  11. So, Wii-U version moves noticeably faster, and the blast zones are significantly closer than on the 3DS version. I was going to main Lucina, but unfortunately she's a trash character, and received no buffs in Nintendo's recent "balance" patch. And although i dont mind being a low-tier warrior it's hard to play with people with her when I can just pick Marth. So i switched to Rosalina.
  12. ATS, BTS, Chrono Adventure are all from one freaking guy SRB2 and Time Attacked are, like, older than some of the member who post here
  13. I can understand "bad", but there is simply no defending an unstable videogame, released on consoles, with a $50 price tag. Glitches, sure. But the type of glitches present in this game, Nah The gameplay also isnt working if it's sitting on a 41 metascore with an even lower user rating....which is where shitty sonic games are supposed to thrive This game did nothing right, just like sonic 06 did nothing right. I couldn't pick silver linings off those games if i tried...and im like, a genius at that.
  14. So i figured this topic was litup only because people b ignoring the art section and you're the only one who uses it. Pleasant surprise! You still working on that game? I want you to be working on that game.
  15. Almond milk is better for you. Tastes better too.
  16. - Please don't ever, ever freeze gameplay so a tutorial puppet can talk to you. I'd rather figure it out by mistake, i'm cringing just watching you play this. If you can explain it in a sentence, then you don't need to hog the player's attention to teach them. A hint as subtle as a picture of a button sequence should suffice for any human being over the age of 5, seriously. Humans are very good at hints. -I actually dig the smaller enclosed areas, i think most 3D games would greatly benefit from that, as well as some more dynamic camera angles. -I can't really get a good finger on anything because of how terrible the framerate is, and the fact 60% of this video is some chao mumbling to me. - Jumping looks very difficult in this game. I would avoid ever including a jump sequence like the one over that pool without platforms at least 200% bigger. It looks agonizing.
  17. Please don't start this shit again. You don't need to point fingers at BTS everytime someone starts a classic sonic fangame, or Freedom Planet everytime someone posts a sonic-derived original. They're all literally built off Sonic engines, making them derivative by nature. The comparisons are worthless.
  18. I really just wish western RPGs would focus a bit more on their visual and kinestetic polish, as that's probably the biggest difference from JRPGs. I simply cannot get into the Elder Scrolls series because of how janky and utterly boring its combat looks. The environments are never very engaging at all, everything looks the same, all the NPCs are ugly, all the towns are ugly. I don't care about anything, other than getting strong enough to murder everyone on a seperate save file. Now, i never beat Fallout 3, but boy did I have fun playing it. Whatever jankyness it had was subverted by the fact the game actually functioned like an RPG. I likened it's combat system to an FPS Free-roam version of Vagrant Story or Parasite Eve, where I retain full control of my character but still can slow down and approach combat from a tatical, turn-based angle. I've seen footage of The Witcher 3, and I feel like that is the direction that Elder Scrolls needs to be heading in. The game looks absolutely gorgeous, from both an artistic and technical angle. The player animates very well, the magic effects are nice, combat looks engaging. I am still no fan of the Tolkienesque vibe that western RPGS refuse to escape from, but that game looks interesting.
  19. I stopped hording sugary cereal years ago. Makes you get fat : / But i'll gladly eat a box of 6 poptarts in 2 days. How crazy is that? same story, different game. Just going to assume Sega is to blame for this too ofc
