  1. Okay scatta, i said the more Realistic sonic games get, the worse they get. I turned around and said "Shadow the Hedgehog was fun enough" because i had fun playing through it... When i mean their going to get worse , i mean that with more realisitc environments and storylines, most of the things sonic games are all about wont exist anymore. Lets look at S3&K... Angel Island Hydrocity Marble Garden Carnival Night Ice Cap Launch Base Mushroom Hill Flying Battery Sandolopis Lava Reef Hidden Palace Sky Sanctuary Death Egg Now, if Sonic Team was to COMPLETELY Remake S3&K, imagine what those stages would look like. Now compare those to the stages in the current games. Thats what im talking about. Its not really that the games get more realistic, its just that Sonic Team is losing the creativity that they had before with their stages. Comparing i can just put it like this Angel Island - Green Forest / White Forest (SA2) Hydrocity - (n/a) Marble Garden - (n/a) Carnival Night - Casinopolis (SA) "the casino stage i hated" (Heroes) Ice Cap - Ice Cap (SA) Launch Base - (n/a) Mushroom Hill - (n/a) Flying Battery - Final Fortress? not really. Sky Deck? kind of.(heroes, SA1) Sandolopis - (n/a) Lava Reef - Red Mountian, except not entirely underground (SA) Hidden Palace - i would say Lost World, but nah. (n/a, or SA1) Sky Sanctuary - (n/a. sickens me, this stage design was awsome) Death Egg - end of every sonic game so far besides Shadow and SA1. SA1 followed more closely to the stage format of the old games, IMO. (Which might explain why i like it, but not sure.) Sonic Heroes i think did an awsome job with level design to me, but something (i STILL dont know what made that game boring) threw it off. Maybe the fact that Act 2 of each stage in Heroes was bascically the exact same stage, which made the game real repetitive. In the old games, (mainly Sonic 3/ Sonic & Knuckles), Act 2 of each stage followed the same theme, but was something different to look at. S3&K act differences (follows "Act one - Act 2 differences" format) Angel Island - Angel Island on Fire Hydrocity - (n/a, diddnt notice much difference besides being indoors) Marble Garden - (n/a, i hated that stage anyway) Carnival Night - (water was added, and the power even gets shut off) Ice Cap - Outdoors, underwater cave Launch Base - Ocean added Mushroom Hill - Fall type setting, and the end of act2 had a Winter like setting, all the leaves were dead or something. Flying Battery - (n/a, also kinda hated that stage) Sandolopis - (Indoors inside a dark pyramid with freaking ghosts. Cool.) Lava Reef - (n/a, 1 act long. but the lava cools. awsome.) Hidden Palace -(n/a, 1 act long. I WISH they would redo this in 3D.) Sky Sanctuary - (i actully dont remember if this stage had 2 acts or not...) Death Egg - (Outside the Death Egg, you can see space + some gravity tricks) all the second acts of Heroes were the same, and if they were different i could barely tell. ----- Oh, and anotehr reason Sonic Adventure was so good is because it was the ONLY 3D sonic game they made where the stage isnt completely strightfoward.
  2. Is that Damizens model? God, it looks sex even when it isnt 19 trillion polygons.
  3. SA2's difficulty was great. Getting all A-Ranks on some stages was the equivilent of fighting a mildly hard DMD boss or something (Dante Must Die mode on Devil may Cry 3 = I M P O S S I B L E.) But if all the SA2 stages were Sonic/Shadow action stages, i would have had Green Hill Zone. I mean, GHZ was neat and all, but the stage layout was horrifcally medicore.
  4. I just think this kind of information should be supplied to us by the person who's making the game.... ...Not someone who wants to create a thread for fun. I mean, this is just as useless as for him to go all the way back to page 2, Bump the Sonic GL topic, and say "Hay guys I just wanted to tell you hez still working on it kbiepalz//1."
  5. This is nice and all, but because it isnt done i doubt anyone cares. We cant play it, and if it was important he would have told us himself...
  6. Well, if i can actully see what kind of gameplay Wildfire holds (instead of that 1 level, it wasnt too convincing), maybe i can be really exited about a sonic game again maybe. Wildfire has potental, its on the right path, but at the same time it isnt. This game's graphics are great, but the more realistic sonic gets the worst it gets. The reason i dissaprove of Shadow/Sonic being in a car is because they OBVIOUSLY dont need them. I could have sworn that sonic runs where he needs to go and shadow can do the same/Teleport. The car is just so freaking out of character. (My sister saw the opening CG sequence to Shadow the Hedgehog and couldnt stop laughing.) Enough about shadow. What they need to do (in MY OPIONION) to make sonic games better is actully slow it down, and focus more on the stage design. They know the games dont stand up to the fun of the orginals. Each game [for me] it seems like they get farther and farther away from what makes the old games fun. Why was SA1 so fun? Fun Level design. (Sky Deck, anyone? How often did you hit top speed on that stage?) Why was SA2 (Sonic/Shadow) so fun? Not only was playing as shadow cool, but it had great level design as well. (Even though Crazy Gadget was horrificly difficult to get emblems on/buggy, it was a great stage. As well as City Escape, both the jungle stages, and both the Ark stages) Sonics normal running speed on Sonic Adventure 2 was roughly the top speed of Sonic on Sonic Adventure. Amazing Speed Boost, still retained the nice gameplay. Before i finsh with the 3D games, we can actully run on to the 2D games, specifically the Sonic Advance Series. Sonic Advance 1 = Great fun, pretty alright speed, great levels. Sonic Advance 2 = Wth? ub3r speed with more pit deaths and running into enemies you cant see than ever before. Sonic Advance 3 = When we all got the COUGHCOFGASFAFGAromGASACOUGH of this game, the engine was so bad we thought it was a Beta version or something. It was like a fangame on really really powerful steroids and physics. Plenty of stages, yet lacking. Faster/ fast as SA2. Seeing my pattern yet? Now, we can continue on with the 3D games. Sonic Heroes - Okay, i was really excited with this game when i saw the gameplay videos and the super big loop in the first stage. But once again, what was lacking in this game? People hated the 3 person idea, but I for one actully enjoyed it. When you first play the game you can instantly see that the game engine makes sonic move at ROUGHLY 2.5x his top speed on SA2. What killed it in the long run? Repetive stages and level design. They even had to halfass the emblem idea because the gameplay diddnt fit doing anything else than fighting hordes of badnicks, flying and running. I believe the "K.Y. Stream" effect came from sonic'n pals going too quick to be able to make them stop without either a) Dead stopping and looking odd or sliding all over the stage. Shadow the Hedgehog - Oh Lord, where to start. What i believe killed this game was its horrific graphics and engine, not the retarded image they gave shadow. As much as i hate seeing shadow, the "Ultimate Lifeform" use guns, the game was fun enough. But it could have been so much better if they tried harder. The game had plenty of stages, and since they were all shadow ONLY, it seemed like the game was much longer...But with an exception of a few levels, it jsut got boring. Combined with constant useless profanity, horrific graphics and an even worse engine, it lasted about a few weeks before it got boring. So..... Sonic The Hedgehog - Cant say. It OBVIOUSLY runs about 2x quicker than heroes, but no one can really say anything about it. Its on a new system and stronger hardware, but can that make up for the engine problems? If they can mix in GOOD LEVEL DESIGN WITH THAT HAVOK ENGINE, then the game will without a doubt be better than the rest...but we just have to wait i guess. Sonic Wildfire - I think it would be better if this was just another "Robotnick stole all the flickies and wants to destroy mobious, lets kick his ass" storyline, but sadly it isnt. That aside, the game seems to have the POTENTAL to outdo all the other current-gen sonic games, but they dont seem to be taking the offer up to do it. Giving the game a Rail really doesnt make a difference seeing how your confined to one path in each sonic game anyway, but if they decide to give each stage MASSIVE length and about 15 different rail paths to follow during the stage, the game would kick ass. Just like Super Mario Galaxy, i really think this game has the potental to kick all the previous game's asses, but unlike nintendo (who, through past experiences with games like Wind Waker obviously know how to make games better than the players), this is Sonic Team. Well, those are my thoughts.
  7. And that's exactly why Shadow's existance is meaningless. Kill him off, Sonic Team. PLEASE KILL HIM... I mean, i liked his voice, his character, even how they made his Running animations, but now he just sucks. (they half assed his running animaitons in Heroes and StH SOOOOOOOOoooooooo Badly...)
  8. nice poster, although Riders became fun and then utterly boring about forever ago.
  9. He doesnt. The only reason Shadow was "Badass" is because he was bad. Shadow died in SA2, and half of the Heroes storyline was messed up because he was brought back. (in a halfassed way.) StH wasnt a bad game. I enjoyed it alot, but it still shouldnt have existed. They dug themselves into a hole keeping shadow alive, and extended the depth of that hole when they decided to make a story as to how he came back. Shadow Clones? What the Hell? Why could'nt they just have robotnick decide to make a single shadow clone similar to Metal Sonic and have Heroes just be Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles try to defeat them. (that would have been 10x a better heroes to me, seeing how each team played EXACTLY the same.) The whole "Shadow's Past" is retarded. At this point, i would be glad if Shadow diddnt exist in ANY more sonic games. (But it wouldnt make a difference now, his death wouldnt have been half as great as it was in SA2.) To wrap it all up, Sonic Team should have just pulled a "Capcom" and made shadow come back to life, just in a halfassed way. (like they do with Zero all the time.) "The Chaos emeralds passed me through the atmosphere, and the Jello Factory i landed in broke my fall." "I diddnt die." "I was on the ARK, you guys just didnt see me." Any of those would have worked. Making this stupid storyline for him ruined him forever. If their smart, they would just kill him off again or make the rest of their sonic games take place inbetween Sonic 2-3 again or some ____.
  10. HOW DARE YOU COMPETE WITH MY TAILS GAME! (That sprite is so sex.) Okay, i might as well post them now. http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k168/Issacus/TailsAdventurepic1.jpg Tails Battles the Gmel bot with the [currently] retarded AI. Tails is the l33t3st Fox around. My l33tn3ss scares the Children. I EAT BABIES! ...Who are you? YOU WANT SOME OF THIS TOO? FEEL MY L33tNESS! OOOOOOHHHHH MY FECKING GOD........ OH GOD THE PAIN SAVE ME BABY JESUS... Good thing Tails is Immortal, eh? Ill post more serious pictures later on today/This week. Im nearing the first [hopefully bugless] playable engine later this week. After i touch up more additions to the engine, ill be able to work on the status system and finsh up adding combos. The 1337s and 13371337s was just for show. No one will be able to deal 13-million 371 thousand 337 damage in the real game. (Except for the 5 Secret bosses.) (And just for the record, it really sucks that MMF cant go past 1.9 billion damage, lol.) EDIT : And i have no clue why those pictures came out so damn small. Any way to fix that? You cant even see half the jokes in the pictures...
  11. Hot Mammal Sex. ECHINIATS! And Duckboy, your choices of art are so freaking awsome. All Mi offspring R belong to U.
  12. Wow Streak, you never fail to have some form of ASS in all of your art. But in all its pretty awsome.
  13. You just insulted our entire race. The last game they put shadow in Ruined his image forever. The "Badass" that was shadow in SA2 with the cool voice is now a freaking loser. Id rather play as Tails or Knuckles than Shadow.
  14. Redsonic's atttempt to be useful around here has FAILED yet again.
  15. Wildfire can go back to the "roots" of sonic because the old games WERE on Rails, its just that you dont notice because theres no choice. Its 2D. The orginal games had a set path too, but they so made up for it. I seriously am waiting for them to make a sonic game as fun as SRB2. That was more fun than Heroes and Shadow put together for the time being.
  16. That would be hillarious. Then all the Japanese VO-lovers will get pwned when they realize how horrible the Japanese would do VOing our ____. Oh, and as far as card games go, Yu-gi-Oh was an amazingly fun card game. (The show sucked, though.) Developers had SUCH a good chance to use technology to bring the game to life (like making a MMORPG, perhaps, Similar to Phantasy Star Online Episode 3), but they never took up on it. (like nintendo with Pokemon.) I dont do card games anymore though. (unless its Spades or Poker.)
  17. Wildfire would be perfect if it had better level design concept. From the levels i see, the game seems too strightforward. The orginal sonic games had levels that wernt exactly confined to looking too realistic, Via the floating platforms and such. There hasnt been a 3D sonic game YET thats featured different paths in both horizontal AND vertical terms. (That means being able to look up and have the ceiling be a completely different path, and be able to do that on the next 3 height levels, spanning Horizontally as well.) When Sonic Team does that, THEN they will have a sonic game capable of beating one of the Orginals. Sonic Wildfire has the IDEA correct, but they are still missing a crucial part that they need to look into. (They can DEFINATELY do it with the Wii-mote, but they would just need a farther out Camera angle and better stage design.) But all we can do is wait to see this game in a more completed state. (Nintendo would be in REALLLLYY good shape if Wildfire , SSBBrawl, and Galaxy all made it to launch, though.) Im actully more excited for Wildfire than the 360/PS3 Sonic the Hedgehog game. Sonic the Hedgehog is actully looking to be really fun, but its so identical in level design to Heroes/SA1/SA2 that its going to last just as long. (a few days after you beat it and it starts getting boring.) It just looks better. (and faster, but that diddnt help heroes that much, did it?)
  18. Mark has the simplest and smartest method. Just make a really, really, really, really, really, really, reallyreallyreally long Mathmatical equation that adds all the values together and puts together a specfic value with like 21 digits, so that solving the equation is next to impossible = not worth the time. Then if they change anything, they get a file Corruption message and it deletes their saved game. (p2nt, stupid INI editing cheaters!)
  19. Grinding is just an easy way to skip making a good level. (unless used in the way it was in SA2.)
  20. Cowgirl pic = pie. (although shes having an Edward Elric Syndrom going on there with the arms.)
  21. I havent used the main site in AGES, but i did notice that the filenames are unorginized. I just miss the huge array of sprites we had way back when. (with the characters in the gold rings and stuff. Gooooooooodd Timmmmmeeessss...)
