  1. XD looks like I mite be in on this too. I wonder what I should pullout? I have tons of sonic fan games I started and never finished (rising standards, enviornmental distractions and, my perfectionist attitude)
  2. its not designed to do that, so it can't be done ATM. besides, that could have undesirable results.
  3. sure, I don't think I ever said I was making it exclusively for this game, I just saw it as a challenge. EDIT: I may develope this into a full platformer.
  4. Its not perfect but I've taken it as far as I can understand. I'm going to release the source to see where other people can go with it. its main problems currently are, boxing in extra blue spheres with red spheres to make extra rings is not implemented (I just don't understand how to make that work) although you can make a map of any size, theres a limit I can't fix, you can go out side the level but thats not the problem, once out side you can't turn any more, this is because your outside it the trun grid object, this controlls when you can turn, so sonic follows the grid properly, I've tried to replace this object with a calculation, but I couldn't get it to work right that way. Rings work Blue spheres to Red spheres works Springs work... Jumping too. The ending squence works too, you may replace the emerald sprite with anything you see fit. Now that example map you just saw! was created through my engine by this this is 4x normal size the offscreen layout object, (this ones 16x16) over all I hope this helps you. download source here MMF2 only

  6. back on topic, I've been working on a mode 7 blue sphere engine ever since I saw your request for help with it (about two days ago or so). anyway, it has yet to get proper colision working, but the map generation system is in place (a few tweeks left but its just about perfect with full customizable atributes). an offscreen bitmap (an active object currently) controlls the placement of all sphere types (via specific valuse of blue, black is space) and the rings and soon the player starting position. you'll also use this object to set the size of the spheres game grid (currently at 24x24). I'll post screens later.

I couldn't get it to run on my computer, no error messages, no crash, no nothing , it just wont start. it sits at the loading screen forever! after waiting a while I check it with the task manager and it says not responding so I force it to close and thats it.   10. Well I made the auto center fix so I didn't have to move the window to see the hole screen, my rez is 1360x768(widescreen) BTW. I mean if the window is gonna change in size it mite as well be automaticaly centered so the user dosen't have to move to the center manualy. The animation fix was just a small one I noticed, so I fixed it. As far as the monitor thing. It just bugged me that it could just bounce on sonic head like that and not kill him... Like the original game, was this to be implemented later or in a different way? is build beta 004 not the lates build anymore? I downloaded it from your link earlyer in the topic.
  11. I've desided to join in this gimmik thing, I've made a few additions to the beta 4 version last modiffied by DW. I've added 1 gimmik and made two little fixes for some things that have been bothering me. the Gimmik I added is from S2 Game Gear in the 2nd to last level, its bassed off these wheels that you could use to get up higher. my wheels have power hens the name of the gimmik power wheels. there are for kinds 3 have speed effects, 1 is nutral, as it stands the powered ones only spin to the right (get on the nutral one and spin to the right then to the left and you'll see why I did this, maybe something that Dami can fix) the demonstration is to the far end of the level. also one of the fixes I did was in the start up frame, it now auto calculates the center of your display size and positions the window there. BTW don't stand under falling monitors or they'll crush you. overall its not much but I just wanted to contribute to this project. download my moddiffied file here Updated! EDIT: I also did a little super sonic sprite animation fix, he only had recolored skid facing one way.
  12. I don't know... it dose what it dose already via reflection, not real light. I could try but I'm not sure quite what it would look like. could you discribe what you think it would look like or provide a modified screen shot? most I can think of right now is to add high contrast noise to the reflection texture. I'll test that and post a screen later. EDIT: scratch that, the high contrast noice did nothing that remotely resenbles a shimmer... if I can figure out a way to do this, I'm most definatly submitting a tut for it.
  13. Thanks Any suggestions for new functions or improvements? I'd add theme select but I need a site that has many themes in the same size and will allow the program to download from it. if someone could make a gamercard generator like this I'd be glad to use it. EDIT: anyone know how to get MMF2 put out images with working transperency? can MMF2 do that in the first place?

  15. for thoughs of you that mite have Test Drive Unlimited for Xbox 360. I've started a SFGHQ club, I'm not sure witch club house its at, just look around, you'll find it. I really hope I didn't use my money (ingame currency) to start this club for no reason.

  17. yeah, everyones been saying that, but this also supports downloadable content, so it can be upgraded or patched. I don't care about the reduced wepons right now anyway, I like its Xbox live voice feature, its more fun because you can chat with the othter players as you kill all they'er worms and visa versa. besides I already payed my 800 MSPT for it anyway. I've also been playing Test Drive Unlimited lately.
