  2. Nope, i'm not using Quark, i'm using Cartography Shop 4 which is great and easy to use. The reason Sonic's hovering is because the Unlink in his rigging is under the feet. Something i'll need to fix.
  3. Thanks guys (and whoever moved this). Yeah, the loops texture is really off, you should have a closer look at the top if you want to see how bad it really is. Actually you can see it from the first screenshot at the end. EDIT: Also, i'm just preparing for SAGE, are there any awards given at the end?
  4. Other forums have asked for a video too. It isn't a very stable release, there are a few bugs, but i'll try to figure out how to use a codec so the file size isn't half a gig. Thanks for your interest!
  5. Terrain normals i think. Like DW i'm following one of these resources that is actually designed for a tank to conform to the terrain, so theres a bit of adjustment needed. Hey, your Damizean, thanks for the model it looks really good! Hmmm, check your PM box....
  6. DARN IT! Sorry, i posted in the assistence Board, not the fangaming discussion board. Not a good start at all. Move please? Hi everyone, i have started to make a 3D Sonic fangame that i've called Sonic 3D Techdemo. I understand the huge amount of work that goes into creating a fangame, and this is my first try at one that is 3D. For this reason i am first prototyping the idea that i have in my head before even considering creating all the pretty art assets, all the levels or even a storyline. I've posted it here because chances are that i'll need a bit of help, probably either mathematical or graphical (i suck so badly at photoshop). More about the game then we'll get to the screenshots. It is being developed with the Torque Game Engine (just as Dimension Warped's is) but i am not using things like 3Ds Max. I'm using good old Milkshape3D to rig things, Character Fx to animate them and Wings3D to do what little modelling i'll have to do. Pretty low budget i should think. The game itself is just trying to get the good old days of Sonic 3 & Knuckles into 3D. None of this Sonic Adventure stuff here. Okay here are some screenshots. As you can see the Sonic is the fantastic model by Damizean, rigged and animated (badly) by myself: At the moment the animations completed and working fine are 'standing' and 'running'. Jumping is broken at the moment. Next, heres a loop, which while not perfect, is still pretty cool: At the moment that loop is gigantic. How big? This big: Sonic as you can see is hovering above the terrain. Another problem to fix. The other sonic who seems to be running at an angle is a bot that follows a path. The rings: 0 HUD in the top left is currently in progress, and the scripting is almost done. It's kind of a good feeling to be progressing with a 3D game for once. I have about 3 and a half weeks of summer holidays left, so i'll be spending a reasonable amount of time working on this. I'm planning to enter this for SAGE, though i don't really know how SAGE works. -----------Milestones!----------- I have set myself some milestones so you and i can keep track of the development progress. No silly percentages just done, not done, in progress. Milestone 1 1) Get a textured Sonic Ingame - Done 2) Get Sonic to conform to terrain - Done 3) Get basic animations working for Sonic - Done 4) Get Sonic conforming 360 degrees round a loop - In Progress 5) Get a basic collecting ring and losing ring system inplace - In Progress 6) Make a dieing system when rings = 0 - Not Done Milestone 2 No objectives for milestone 2 yet. ---------------------------------------- Thats it for now.   7. I loved STC, i didn't get it regularly, i still have number 3 and a few from around 20 to 30. As it went on i loved it around the 80 mark, but then they started to repeat previous strips. It was annoying but they put new things out every now and then, but one day i went out and bought one of the last mags and the stories i had all read before. STC and Sonic 3 sustained my obsessiveness for Sonic for years. I never read Archie (obviously, i'm in the UK) but is there a place to read them all online?

I've been away for a week camping, but the logo that i asked for still hasn't been done, Zal said it was in progress, but i saw another one he did a few pages back. Is my logo ever going to be finished? I am sorry if i have missed the logo, if it was posted before and i missed it, please post the link here. Thank you.

  10. i have to admit that i get puzzled about this. My monitor which ran at 1600x1200 blew completely a week ago, so i reverted to my spare. It's max is 1024x768, but it everything looks too large. Computers at my school that run at 800x600 look exactly the same, so why does my computer insist it's running 1024x768? Maybe i should have the logo in 800x600 then, but if you've already started on it Zal or SoniC++ or whoever, it doesn't matter just keep going.
  11. My game is a 3D game, (at the moment it's pretty playable, coming along well) and i don't think that anyone has their screen set at less that 1024x768? Think of it as the main menu GUI, the logo doesn't need to fill it all up.

  15. The right hand is found under the left hand. If you're using Milkshape just browse the groups list, select the right hand and flip left-to-right. It'll be in the correct place then.
  16. Animation Shop by Jasc is a good one. Well, i have used it, and it imports Paint Shop Pro files for the frames which makes for easy editing.
  17. It took me 6 refreshes to see it. That is deffinatly the apple logo.

  21. Really great! I liked the music, where's it from? The spin dash animation looks a bit strange to me though. I got a B when i'd completed it.
  22. I really like that Firefox logo. The next gen sprites are really well done too. Nice work.
