Make sure you have the lastest version of ePSXe, and use Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.8 as the graphics plugin and Eternal SPU Plugin 1.41 for the sound plugin.

I wouldn't say the backgrounds suck, they fit the graphics very well. Although I have to say they feel a bit empty. I'm sure they wouldn't if the resolution was lower. 320X240 would do it. As for the engine, it has a nice flow and movements, I find that spark attack a nice alternative to the usual homing attack. I also liked the way you kick your way up between two walls, it's fun. The other movements are nicely coded aswell. This engine would already make a nice game IMHO, but it's always good to improve. The characters animations aren't so smooth, you might want to redo them. Oh, and the special effects are superb, keep them for your new engine :] All in all, this game has a lot of potential, I wish you good luck with it. And I can't wait to see the final engine ;0 I have one question though. How did you do that star effect in the spindash? I have been trying to make that in my engine with no sucess. (I mean those starts that go in Sonic's direction when he's spindashing.

That's the forum I posted before (look at my first post) The better music works for any machine, but the improved graphics will not work on newer Geforce Cards.

Perfect Chaos Zero: If you just go through the storyline, using the best spells, of course it's going to be easy. Did you even tried to get the other GFs? Eden, Jumbo Cactuar, Tomberry King, Doomtrain? I understand getting then would be useless, because the characters can be stronger. But it's nice to get a perfect game, nevertheless. Beating Ultima Weapon was extremely hard, no matter what my stats were, what magics I had, and in what level I was. And that really added to the challenge :] Also, FF7 was way easier. I never played FF9, but I'll give it a shot, since you said it's better. shadowgoten: How was the FF8 story weird? I think it made more sense than the story of FF7 (I'm not saying it's better though). All in all, I think it's worth getting FF8. Scatta, if you can get the Psx version anywhere, use it with the ePSXe emulator. That way it will look better than the PC version, since you will be able to use AA, texture filtering, high-res textures and full screen filters. I don't know if it's 100% compatible though...

I have FF8 for PC, and it's pretty good. Apart from the midi music, everything else is superior to the PSX version (The music is also great in the pc version, nonetheless). However, there's a major letdown... If you have one of the newer Geforce cards (Geforce 6 series or better) you won't be able to play it in hardware mode, wich has the better quality models, billinear filtering for the backgrounds, etc. You'll only be able to play in software rendering mode, witch I can safelly tell you, It's not pretty. You can't use these cards, because the test for '8-bit palletized textures' will always fail, thus you will get lots of black filled spaces and horrible grid-lines. Final Fantasy 7 has the same problem, but Square released a patch that fixes this problem in it. They didn't even bother to do the same for FF8, because it's not as famous as FF7 is. If you have an ATI video card, check the Quimm.com forums for the tut on how to make FF8 look the best way possible (MUCH better than the PS1, with filtering, AA, better music...). Having to play it in software mode doesn't bother me that much. I don't know if you'll like it though... Edit: Kain, you might want to consider downloading the 1.02 patch for FF7. It fixes lots of graphics issues, on both Nvidia and non-Nvidia cards. Also, check the forums I mentioned before for crashing-to-dekstop fixes and other miscelaneous stuff. Edit 2: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php If you take every tweaks and enhancements from there, your FF7 will be almost a 100% bugfree. You'll have to search for every fix through the posts though.

This is the closest to anime style your character gets. It's good for a start, but you should try to copy something from an anime magazine to improve your style. This one is very old.

Brazil is screwing up really bad this year. I doubt they can beat Argentina the way they are playing.

Just one thing: Backgrounds - Very detailed. Sprites - Not so detailed. Graphics - Clash. I have to admit though, that it doesn't look bad at all. It might look better if you consider using the same graphics, but I don't really mind if you don't. It looks like it's going to be fun, keep it up :]

I kinda liked Mortal Kombat though, I can't even count how many times I've seen that movie. The cast was very good. I can't say the same about the DOA movie. By the looks of it, you just know it's going to suck.

lmao, the guy is nuts! While I understand that he gets pissed off at the trolls, this isn't gonna solve anything. It is true that most people that keep bashing his movies didn't watch them, because they were so pissed off when "House of The Dead" was released that they didn't want him to direct any more video game movies. If you take a look at the IMDB's top 100 worst films of all time, "House of The Dead", "Alone in the Dark" and "BloodRayne" are all there, because the haters keep voting 1 for them. Now, those movies may be bad, but are far from being the worst of all time. If you want my opinion about the haters, thinking that a movie will ruin a video game forever is the most retarded thing one could ever think. These die hard fans need to chill the hell out, and stop whishing death to the guy. IF I were him, I would simply stop directing video game movies and stick to dramas (he has directed a nice drama IMO).
