  1. Still no sign of the Sonic defense force to defend this game with empty arguments. I'm impressed.
  2. Almond milk tastes like almonds. Therefore it is terrible.
  3. Soy milk is frigging delicious. Also a requirement in my life since I'm lactose intolerant.
  4. So, my favorite cereal is peanut butter crunch. Thoughts?
  5. ... We have more issues than Newsweek here.
  6. Hey Gear, you completely missed the point of me bringing up Hyrule Warriors there. Know one asked for your little tangent.
  7. And I still can't wish Sega would disappear since its holding Atlas hostage.
  8. Guys, I give up. I can't play any more of this wreck. Imagine if you took the exploration and characters from Jan & Daxter, the corridors of Crash Bandicoot, and the combat and platforming from Sly Cooper. You'd get a pretty decent game, unless of course said game was developed by a bunch of rank amateurs that make the most miserable leches on Steam Early Access look competent. Then you'd get Sonic Boom. The game feels like you're never in control, like if you have a TV with a really bad refresh rate so every action feels 3 seconds behind. Combat is clunky and delayed, the running segments are serviceable at best, and the sound design hasn't been this atrocious since Sonic Chronicles. (The sound of running on water sounds like a dog lapping up water) Characterization is okay, although Knuckles being portrayed as an idiot (and subsequently being ridiculed for it) is borderline offensive. Amy is thankfully not as annoying as she could be, although her random cries of "Girl Power" seem like a developers last minute inclusion to make Amy seem equal to the other characters. (I have no issues with female characters trying to show strength. Big Hero 6's Gogo Tamago's "Woman Up" is equally cheesy, but at least she backs it up by being incredibly competent compared to the rest of her peers.) Tails and Sonic haven't changed much. But really though, this games biggest drain is just how poorly it runs. Jumping is janky and awkward, like someone just put in a set Z position to -20 whenever B is pressed. The framerate chugs, and the sound is frequently skipping before and after cutscenes. None of this can be blamed on the Wii U either, I've seen much more graphically intense games such as Hyrule Warriors and Super Mario 3D World run without issue. I have many more complaints, but it's pointless to keep going on. Someone out there (Sonic Stadium members, TSSZ's commenters) will defend this game as some kind of misunderstood work of art. More power to them. However I just see it as just a bad game made by a 3rd rate studio.
  9. Wow, that fight with Shadow was really really dumb.
  10. I feel bad for Knuckles. Also gameplay is okayish. Framerate is abysmal though. Combat is poor man's Sly Cooper.
  11. So guys, Boom arrived today. THESE PILLARS LOOK USEFUL! I BET THESE PILLARS WILL. COME IN HANDY. PILLARS.
  12. It hasn't arrived yet Sereph. That or the mail carrier realized what it was and deliberately lost it for my own good.
  13. Guys, you're having multi paragraph discussions about Shadow the Hedgehog... Have some dignity please.
  14. Well guys, just started a gamefly free trial and Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric will be my trial game. So yay... I think.
  15. That last paragraph of yours is so spot on OB.
  16. 2D: Ice Cap Zone. The snowboard sequence at the beginning is horribly automated, but it's followed by some of my favorite platforming and gimmicks in a Sonic game. Like any good Sonic 3 stage it also has plenty of background variation between the icy caverns and the ice flows in the upper levels. Honorable Mention goes to Green Hill Zone Act 2. It has some of my favorite hidden spots in a Sonic game. I still practice trying to beat this stage blindfolded. 3D: Knuckles' version of Red Mountain. I've felt that in the Adventure games Knuckles has always had the tightest gameplay. Red Mountain is basically the perfect playground for it. Lots of gliding and climbing with the ever present danger of bottomless pits. Honorable Mention goes to the Sonic Generations Classic version of Crisis City (Yes this a cheat pick) but I felt of the "Classic Stages" it had the best re-imagining of a classic version of a modern stage.
  17. I was actually referring to this post (and Brawl), which apparently my phone didn't bother to tell me there were 2 more pages after it. http://sonicunited.org/forums/index.php?/topic/133-super-smash-bros-3dswii-u/page-17#entry163579 Honestly I'm so sick of the "different from melee" argument that I'm ready to picket EVO.
  18. Jess christ, just say you don't like it and be done.
  19. I've been a few more hours into the demo and I think I'm going to bite when the game hits the eShop tonight. The controls are starting to feel a little better to me, and as far as mechanics are concerned I don't care how close the game gets back to melee.
  20. I hear you there. Hell even the time I spent trying to play Brawl with a classic controller sucked. Muscle memory is probably to blame for that one. Oddly enough, I tried placing my 3DS XL in my roommate's Vita handle shell (http://www.amazon.com/CTA-Digital-Vita-Hand-Grip-playstation/dp/B0073ESZ58) and I was able to have a much better time, particularly with shoulder button placement.
  21. After my brief stint with Lost World I'm not even going to consider buying the game if reviews aren't in the high 80s. And also of its dropped down to $20.
  22. Anyway, if the net play isn't complete garbage I'll be hosting a Smash tournament for us sometime in November.
  23. Hate to spoil it for you, but that's always how Shin Megami Tensei protags have been and it will most likely stay that way for the long run. P5 trailer is neat. Also Persona 4 Dancing has been delayed to 2015 and for some reason Chie, Kanji, and Yosuke are in it now. Yukiko is MIA and I'm annoyed.
  24. I rarely play anymore, but if I'm on I'll gladly play a game if I can get my usual role. Username: CaptMarvelous Role: AD Sona Server: US BTW I only play ARAM.
  25. Been playing the demo. It's fun. I will say though that if it wasn't for the free soundtrack offer, I'd be completely skipping out on Smash 3DS. Hyrule Warriors is coming out this Friday, and I've enjoyed that demo much more than the Smash demo. I'm not comfortable playing Smash on the 3DS at all. Don't mind the button layout, but the circle pad lends itself to very little precision. Also DW, sorry I didn't send you one of my early access codes. I ended up giving them away via random giveaways over the week.
