Computers are, in gernal, better than people. You can turn a computer off if its giving you problems... you can't do that with people.
Well, I guess you can, but you can't turn them on again and you'll probably end up in jail if you try it.

Personally I have no problem giving out my race. I mean we have those little picture threads (which I actually thought were against the rules.. but no one tells me anything ftw), and I mean I post my picture and you all can SEE that I'm black. So I mean, what harm is going to do me if I say I'm West Indian.

Uh, okay. But are you really comfortable giving out your real name, photo, age, and where you live? The problem with the internet is that information never really goes away.
Even the slightest bit of information can make you vulnerable to some form of identity theft, or worse. Not wanting to be responsible (morally, if not legally) for anytihng that might happen, if I am in a position to save you from your own stupidity I feel compelled to do so.
Henceforth, this shall become the first locked topic of the new forum.

Anime has nothing to do with SFGHQ or even game creation... so I'm not sure why such a club would exist here.
I refer to them as "guilds" because they are supposed to be groups of users based on skills, not interests. The idea was to try and promote teamwork projects by organizing the various skills more clearly. Also, we were considering th epossability of "paid" work (see the topic on forum currency and rewards) which you would have access to by being part of a guild... as an incentive to actually help each other with projects.

It's only for show. It plays no active role, and in fact is a bit of a liability because of its size and bulk.
In other words, the tail tells you absolutely nothing about the bird's actual reproductive fitness.

So what about a peacock's tail? Not all evolutionary developments require a clear reproductive advantage.

I would like to work out some kind of rule system that would allow for members to form their own guilds, much like how you establish clubs in high school/college. For example, minimum number of members, clear focus for why the guild should exist, members having specific responsibilities, etc. Things to consider, I suppose.
