  1. Sorry for a double post "Falk - on sonic retro So I've been told it's okay to announce; Andy Tunstall, Maxie and I each have one track in this demo. Since we seem to have set this hilarious precedent that projects of this sort in recent history need to have a giant roster of composers, there's also a few hidden cards up our sleeves right now." So, yeah. Andy did the track for the first stage, Falk did the boss battle and Maxiedaman did the water level.

  5. Here’s the second gameplay video for spark. it’s just a minute and a half of more stuff related to what i posted here in those past few months.
  6. The stages on spark right now are quite big and anything that might seem similar to the "Acts 1,2 and 3" structure is done in the same stage without any transitions. Well, execept for one or two stages due to technical dificulties. The game's story mode goes from stage to stage without any kind of stage end sign or point.

This is part of a boss arena that follos up into a stage which i have't shown much of yet. I should probably keep it as a "surprise". Or i might just show it one day, who knows. @Alex Well, I guess it wont be long before I make another fan art spotlight.

This was all done as an experiment by the company that made him, but one day…” Ok, so, this guy is the boss of the desert level shown before. Anyway, I was going to make a better annoucement if I actually could draw a better version of him at the moment, but that would take way too much time away from the actuall game so i decided to go with the in game sprites. Also, he is playable. Although he is incomplete at the moment, I originally planned to make him a fully playable character before i took the project in another direction. Is there still hope for him? Yes…? There should be some more info on this some other day. Edit: Also, something I posted there a while ago but not here.

It’s still not 100% done of couse and there is still a lot to work on. Also, about the board, I changed its max speed to be about 100pixels per frame(60fps) and his top speed(speed cap) about 10ppf and i presumed there would be quite a lot of glitches and Spark would go trough the level’s tiles but surprisingly, it’s not happening. So I’m leaving it like this. Altough it will be really hard to reach 100ppf. For a comparasion, in all of the classic Sonic the hedgehog genesis games, Sonic’s speed cap is abour 6ppf and his maximum speed is about 15(?)ppf if i remember correctly. Special little bit of info: Somehow it's not possible to see it in this screen but there is little pixels representing dust flying around in 3 layers closer to the "camera" giving the level a lot of life.

  15. Uh... why people are taking the fact that this is based of ATS/BTS as a bad thing? I just want to get this clear: I'm FINE with poeple copying, getting inspired and/or ripping off ANYTHING from my SONIC FAN GAMES games. i'm no creator, my ideas always come from somewhere, for an exanple: the boss battle, also from sonic advance 2. Even if this guy is making a fan game out of a fan game, the ideas present in BTS/ATS are not owned by me by any means, they are just ideas. Alrighty, so... In my oppinion, originality, accurate sonic mechanics or anything else people make a big deal about. Is NOT what making a fan game is all about, for me, making a fan game is about learning how to make a game, you can be unoriginal as far as you want, that is NOT A PROBLEM, as long as you learn something. So, for the guy working on this. Keep up the work man. Although i haven't played the game yet, i'll try later whem you upload it to another download page, like mediafire or dropbox. Oh, don't mind my typos, they are everywhere.

(Ok, avoid the spoiler if you don't want to see a stupid rant) Ok, now that is out of the way (it's not related to spark btw) Here some updates: (NEW STAGE) Also, if you see this, when I was posting this game around retro, I asked if anyone wanted to test out the game but only if you could record the playthrough so I could polish the level design a little bit. Altough, no one replied.
  17. New stage! No name yet, like every other stage. It’s very early in development, as you can see from the out of place gray line on top of the BG, but i’m not sure if i’ll actually finish it this time, that is, i’m not really that happy on how this stage is turning out, although, it’s mosty likely that I will finish it one way or the other. But anyway, this stage… well, there is something quite special about it. Oh, and hey, tags. not sure how those work though.

So, what do you guys think? Does it look like it would fit spark in the game currently?

  24. Oh god all the ideas. Anyway, since Spark's electric power aren't really his own but, YES, they come from the hat (which you can buy at the nerast store for s small price of 28,99) Anyway, I'll show more in game stuff about that later on. And here is the arwork used to make the game's sprites: Edit: now that i think about it, i forgot to show one of the 3 power ups you can get in the game. oh well, more for later i guess. @Guear dude, that looks awesome And that idea about ristar, i would totally do it if i knew how to at the moment, maybe i should look into it though. @Alex I agree about his walking animation, i was looking on making another one at some point.
