  1. I can do okay with Sonic 1 now. Labyrinth Zone is still a very frustrating level though. Speaking of which, who the hell thought it'd be a good idea to increase the air bubble wait time for Scrap Brain 3? I always died because they took so long to appear.
  2. Good luck! My save file is always available if you ever need it. I'll admit Sugar Splash is a pretty fun stage to play, if a bit frustrating at times.
  3. Pretty good! Keep it up. Just a bit of advice, to make them look less creepy try drawing closed mouths instead of open ones all the time. Like what they do for most official 2D Sonic art. I think your drawings would turn out better that way.
  4. Feeling pretty good right now, if a bit tired. Can't wait for next week or the week after. Things have been pretty eventful lately!
  5. I get they wanted a budget priced 3DS but...why this thing? The design is awkward. How will streetpass and the camera work? Nintendo is becoming more and more odd lately. To the stripped down Wii with no internet capabilities at all, to this. They're just confusing consumers with these things. :S
  6. SA2 is another game along with Heroes that I have fond memories of. Though as of late I feel the game is very awkward to play sadly. Compared to Unleashed and Generations, the game just has a lack of polish. Later Sonic and Shadow stages just get frustrating due to the camera and glitches. Nowadays if I play SA2, it's mainly for the Tails stages. Also I find the treasure hunting stages kind of boring.
  7. I've been using this one since I first got it and haven't switched out since. Will I ever change it? Probably. With all the CP news I've been on a huge BlazBlue kick lately, so when the hype dies down I'll probably swap it if I find something else I like.
  8. Just keep practicing, Stritix. It was hard for me at first too. But now I can breeze through it.
  9. I still hold Sonic Heroes in a very special place in my heart. It was the first game I got when I finally regained my childhood back, after moving away from my step father. My sister scratched the disc and I couldn't play it anymore, but a few months later it got a re-release and I was so happy and overjoyed by it.
  10. So Dead Letter Circus just released their new album last week and it's fantastic. It's not out in the US yet, but they have announced US tours and such. Give them a listen? :3 For anyone wondering about the genre, it's mostly melodic rock. http://www.mediafire.com/listen/syta6bau661wgv1/05_I_Am.mp3 http://www.mediafire.com/listen/56a8bq8417vyz3h/01_The_Cure.mp3 http://www.mediafire.com/listen/l3alxd878zxk6hq/04_Lodestar.mp3
  11. So there are games out there that hardly anyone knows about. They might read the back of the box or an random article about it, and then put it down without a second thought. But what they don't know is that the game is actually much deeper than the box actually lets on. Have any of you had an experience like this? I guess I shall start off. My game in question is simply called "Petz: Catz 2". It was available for the PS2 and Wii. Let's take a look at the front and back of the box shall we? Not very ambitious, is it? What are your thoughts when you see this cover? What kind of game do you think it is, just by looking at it? What if I told you that it isn't a pet game, but an action/adventure game that has a lighthearted story with some dark elements. The game originates from Japan, where it was called "Kitten and the Magical Hat". Let's take a look at the cover. That's much better, isn't it? It gives you more knowledge to what the game is actually about. The gameplay itself is very Zelda like. At some point in the game you're required to find 3 elemental stones to get to the final boss. But they require you to wear special clothing to reach them. A jacket to protect you from the heat and cold. But even then, you still need to find an oasis or hot spring since the clothes don't protect you 100%. So there you have it. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
  12. So I'd like to get this thing started as soon as possible. How much more time does everyone need? If you add me on Skype I can send you my save file if you need it. I have everything unlocked sans Debug Mode.
  13. Hey I know you! :D

  14. Nice! Your art is coming along great. I still need to pick up a pencil and actually practice more.
  15. I'll be gone from today right through to all of Monday due to no internet access. I'll be back Tuesday.
  16. Right so. I've been playing this game a lot and have decided to write up a review for it during my last playthrough. Presentation ATS is nothing short of beauty for a sprite based game. All the levels are unique and the sprites themselves are full of life. Nothing like the static pieces Sega gave us for the original Trilogy. The cutscenes are good for the most part. But some of the animated pixel art they used is really zoomed in and can look ugly at times. Some cutscenes also don't use the full screen, so we're often left with pasted textures or a plain white background for the parts of the screen that go unused. Sound The sound for this game is fantastic. The soundtrack is amazing, I find myself listening to it everyday. My favourites specifically are KgZ's "Crumbstepping" for Sugar Splash Act 3, Mr. Lange's Sugar Splash 16 bit and the Lava Powerhouse remix, Funk Fiction's Wolf Rayet and Red Moon. The entirety of Andy's Moon Mansion. And of course, who could forget Falk's kickass "World's Largest Pogostick" ! All the tracks are beautiful. While BTS had a few hit and miss tracks, there's not one track in ATS that I dislike. Even tracks I used to hate before grew on me and became favourites. The soundteam have really outdone themselves this time around. Really sad to see them go after putting on such an outstanding performance for this game! Gameplay Okay so...the gameplay is good for the most part. It's definetly a massive step foward from Before the Sequel, I'll give it that. Psychics aren't 1:1 but who cares about that? You'll rarely run into instances where badniks are in your path, so go nuts. The running animation is cooler uncurled. Level design is good for the most part. But there are sections which don't make it clear what you're supposed to do next or where to go. There are a few flaws where you can get stuck which I will explain later. The secret final boss is fun for the most part, but I can see how it would frustrate some people. Now for the flaws... The flaws are very glaring. It's almost like the game punishes you for using Super Sonic. There are parts in Redhot Ride that require the Flame Shield to get to the next area, so if you activate Super Sonic during those parts you're forced to stand there until your Rings drop. Then there's this little gem in Technology Tree.... That badnik there will ruin your life. It can even hurt Super Sonic. And makes UFO chases aggrivating. There is one specific glitch that still hasn't been fixed that carries over from BTS. Every now and then there's a lag/slow down glitch that makes Sonic or Tails super slow and it's really annoying. It makes levels twice as long to complete because of it. There's no way of fixing it either. It comes and goes randomly. Worst of all? It can trigger in special stages. So there you have it. A good, potentially great Sonic fangame that just need a little more development time/bug testing. Overall you can get through the game okay for the most part, but once those bugs kick in you'll be ripping your hair out. 7.0 for a playthrough with bugs. 8.0/8.5 for a bug free run.
  17. It depends. How far are you into the game? Gotten used to everything yet?
  18. Turn Captain Falcon into an actual falcon. Problem solved.
  19. I want Wolf to stay, if anything Falco is the one that needs to go. D: There are enough clone characters as it is.
  20. So I downloaded and play the game. I'm only on the first first level (third act) so I'll post my thoughts so far: -Too many routes for you to even run with. I'm always walking. -Badniks are badly placed. -First boss is horrible and cheap. What makes Tails so threatening that I can lose Rings if I hit him? -Grinding could have been executed better. Like press jump and you automatically hop on the rail, instead of pressing another button The game is okay. I hope later levels focus more on speed and running than multiple routes every 5 seconds.
  21. So since I opened an RP topic, I figured we could use something for future RP's. This should only be used for original characters. Sonic characters as well as other video game characters have plenty of media and websites you can gather info from so those won't be needed. Name: His real name is Fabien Lhancat, but he's not at all fond of his first name so he always goes by Lhancat. Age: Lhancat has no set age. This is up for the reader to decide. But the estimated age is around late teens to early 20's. Likes: Boxkoi, sleeping in trees, taking things easy Dislikes: Seafood Personaity: Lhancat is fairly laid back though is a bit aloof at times. He is generally very friendly and caring to his friends/people he knows. Despite this, he's also sensitive and certain things will damper his spirits a bit if he's left alone for too long. He requires friends and other people to to talk to to prevent this from happening. Appearance: Lhancat has dark red/maroon fur with blue eyes and grey-white fur on his chest. He wears black denim shorts with a chain hanging off his belt on his right side. Weapon: Lhancat uses a gunblade that can transition between a sword and a gun. However, he's very underexperienced with it so he only knows how to use the firearm part of it, with no knowledge on how to use a sword at all. Bio: Lhancat left his home not very long ago to look for a new home on his own, since he realized he couldn't stay in his birth town forever. Along the way he met a peculiar creature called a Boxkoi who was very sick from living in the lake that was polluted. After nursing her back to health, he learns that she was the only survivor there, and decides to take her with him on his travels so they can both find good homes together. Pictures: Lhancat Boxkoi Note: Boxkoi is the property of Rivira and does not belong to me.
  22. (Due to the overwhelming amount of replies to this, I thought it'd be better to turn this into an RP rather than an ask questions thing. I'll get to replies soon!)
  23. "S-so many questions! This is what I get from taking the day off...I'm outta here!"
