  1. You're right; It is just you. That model's f*cken bEaUtIfUl, P3DR0. O_O I like the grey groove thingies and green eyes (should be darker though if it's ever gonna fit on classic Sonic) but they don't belong in this game.
  2. New wisp. I think it's kinda hilarious that the wisp that helps Sonic's OLD move is pink. =P
  3. Only 2 people saw this post and screenshot because it was buried beneath the page. =/
  4. Story? I dislike. Sonic needs no majorly complicated story. Ideas, logo and everything else? Top notch.
  5. Wonderful! =D Can you change it just a little bit, though? You know that kinda thin textured tune that happens before the music repeats? Could you make that tune a bit shorter please (only repeated once before the song starts again), because at the moment it's a break from the awesome vibrantness the song seems to eminate. =D
  6. All it needs is a repeat or a bit of padding to get it to the 1:20 mark that act 1 has, and it will be a TOTAL WINNER of a song. I mean, it's that already, but it just makes for easy listening when I listen to how awesome it is if I don't have to press the play button again. =P
  7. Magma Mine! =D Thank you, Jeffrey, for helping me indirectly! Rep ++!
  8. Thanks but no thanks. =/ It's more like ancient, deep-underground ruins with lava and stuff.
  9. Thanks, Jeffery and SF2010. =) That... isn't a great zone name though. =/
  10. Here we go. Actual screenshots of the new, still-unnamed lava zone! You can see a new gimmick I coded in the span of 6 or so hours (sleep time non-inclusive =P ) and which only has 1 minor glitch. Oh wait do you see that chain, on the new gimmick? Yeah. I coded chains that only need 2 objects to run, so they are just graphical. You need to tweak them horrendously for every object you apply them to though. (Also, Delta, the rocks aren't even red/crimson BTW. =P )
  11. Hehe remeber those sideways moving platforms didn't work anyways even with your additions, and the rest was just basic stuff that the engine was lacking. Also I guess I should have phrased it differently, I have nothing but respect for you. It's just that I want to do something with code later on so I'd rather do it myself; doesn't mean I began nessecarily good enough at it when first working on Sonic Genesis. =P
  12. Ah. At least that's cleared up. =) I want to do something with maths and programming at some point in the future so I'd rather face the full force of programming than chicken out, but that's just me; not to detract from the topic or anything.
  13. I was just joking, indicated by the small text and pokey-tounge-face that is ordinarily connected to not-entirely-seriousness. =P Anyways, tis a shame to see you depart from the Sonic Dash users. I suppose it may be worth it. It's just that you will find yourself trying to code in a manner suited to the Dash engine every now and again, disorientating you and disrupting your learning curve. =( Also how can you accurately reproduce your original levels pixel perfect? That is always a problem when switching engines.
  14. Wow. =O What does this mean for existing levels? What if you can't recreate some gimmicks you've made for your current engine? does this mean your gimmicks are up for grabs =P
  15. Thanks, Overbound! Actually, it was kinda intended kinda like Sonic 2... But when I downloaded the original trilogy for Wiiware (SnK not included sadly, 200 points short =P ) it was always Sonic 1 I wanted to play, and which I completed the most (indeed, the only one in which I could get more than 2 chaos emeralds). Perhaps the only bad part was the lack of spindash and those spike poles in Labyrinth Zone Act 3, which I could not past for the life of me. =P So, I guess a S1 influence has rubbed off in such a manner. =) Also, DJ Espeed, that rules. =D Do you mind creating an act 2 version in the vein of S3nK or would you rather work on your own projects at the moment? =) Also, just noticed that WIP 4 was a promo version. Got it.
  16. Logged in on holiday just to say this; That is awesome. One minor thing; the fadeout won't work for the music ingame. But I like it anyways. =D
  17. Oh my god, you saved in JPG. It's completely unusable. D= It's a very good sheet of a very terrible character, artifacts aside. =)
  18. Hey Strife! =D Aren't you from the CQ fora? I'm Zorchdude there, although I almost never visit now that I've lost a lot of work I made on World Trek. D= Also yeah that is awesome. =D
  19. About the time transition; There's a time warp to the future after a couple of blocks that had swinging spike balls around. When you run on the other side of the screen, you can get hurt by the spike balls. A game-wide gimmick should not hurt you. =P Also this is Act 1 BTW. D=
  20. Downloading now. Man, STT is always THE BEST. =P EDIT: Oh yes. STT is amazing. Only 4 flaws: 1 - The end of level text is drawn upon the wrong layer; it is behind the water level and the Player. You normally don't notice the player's in front; You're supposed to be moving fast enough at the end. But if you slow down... 2 - Any reason why the title screen's top reads 'Sonic Eclipse', or that everything else reads Sonic Time twisetd? =P 3 - The drowning numbers. They should be drawn above Sonic, not simply placed into the level as an immovable object. =P 4 - The new method of time transition can often lead to Sonic getting stuck in sticky situations; sometimes he may even respawn in a wall. ;.; I love the level design and badniks and music and EVERYTHING.
  21. Warning: Total copypasta from the Sonic Retro topic. Here is the website and download link! Welcome to the topic of SONIC GENESIS. This classic fangame with many new twists is also enhanced with improved sprites, and while it is unfinished, it is a sort of accurate example of what the final game may be like. JADE HILLTOP ZONE is the first zone of many in SONIC GENESIS. While you may find some easily defeatable badniks here, Dr Robotnik has thrown in a few susprises! There are three badniks in this zone. They are the SHELLSTOPPER, SKYBUZZER and PESCROBAT. The SHELLSTOPPER is the most intuative of all the new badniks-if you attack it from its claw side, it will bounce you back like a bumper. The SKYBUZZER is not particularily interesting, floating around, moving up and down, and the PESCROBAT is your typical bridge-jumping aquatic dezinen. Rolling hills and simplistic yet fun level design will keep you on your toes - You must use your NEW ABILITY, the QUICKSTEP, to turn around quickly should you almost run into a badnik! But when you take on the BOSS, you will find that Dr Robotnik has prepared to take you down using his LASER EGG mecha. While not an imaginative name, it can give you a run for your money! (That was all copypasta from the readme, excuse me for being under time constraints.) I have completed almost all of this game myself, aside from the basic engine thanks to Rogueyoshi and Damizean, as usual with Game Maker games, and a few bugfixes thanks to Overbound! Here is a massive PNG quilt of screenshots! And in case you want to look back at this project's beginnings, here's the link to the main topic and some extremely preliminary screenshots. I hope you enjoy this. =)
  22. Looks nice. Downloading now. BTW, you have a horrible file sharing service. It is littered with ads that say DOWNLOAD NOW. The actual download button is incredibly small and was almost impossible to find. EDIT: Awesome. A great game; spriting's obviously not your strong point but the thing is it doesn't need to be. The game is fun enough that bad graphics won't drag it down. I have no idea how the ranking system actually works, but I got E consistently, whilst I only got one D. It is kind of harsh, leading me to have to keep on going back to the first level to try and get some more points so I could actually use spin-jump, drill-kick and Knuckles run at the same time so I could actually confront the Gemerl Boss. D= Also I have no idea how to beat the ice zone's first part. There are no signs whatsoever and the spring is useless at getting me up to that platform. Still great though!
  23. Awesome. =D Kinda repetitive in places but still top notch.
