  1. Basically, wider screen resolution for gameplay. Support for that- having more space to be able to see more of what's ahead of you, flattening all of the stats across the top (except for the lives, still bottom corner) and... I guess, that's it. It would be graphically impressive, I guess.
  2. Just want to say - I hope you can make some sort of widescreen support for the game camera, like Sonic CD's upcoming remake. Truly that would be a huge graphical enhancement to Sonic D+, distinguishing it from the old Damizean Engine-derirative games that litter this site at the moment (Sonic Genesis included)
  3. I'm thinking we also need to compile a list of things we have to implement. My ideas are unlockables (with Red Rings, like Colours/Generations/Worlds Level Collab as the default method of unlocking.) and support for changing certain game mechanics at startup. For example, for Sonic 1 fangames, a variable could be set to 1. This would be checked at certain times so spindash would be impossible and so getting knocked onto a spike from another would kill the player. For Sonic 2, keep all the characters at the same speed and disallow abilities. For Sonic 3nK, just leave the characters as they are. I'm not too sure about the second idea, but hey ho.
  4. My method, as I see it, was better because it didn't require an object to be placed. The drawing events could be patched onto the objGlobalController, the physics could be handled by the player object and the actual height of the water could be a variable - allowing for easy, real time water movement. This is what I remember of it, but this is a method that I think works well.
  5. SuperBliz's way is horribly inconvenient. Chronic, please wait for me to get home and send you Sonic Genesis' gmk. I am certain the way I attempted it will work much better than others that have been suggested. I hope you don't take this personally SuperBliz, but I feel like I haven't contributed enough yet and I have something that is already almost complete and is easy to port over.
  6. I actually had lava in my build of Sonic Genesis (along with semifunctioning water). Curse you, shitty intermittent Mobile Broadband! Why would Vodaphone make something so horrible?!?
  7. Chronic, I guess I'll give you the entire code base of Sonic Genesis soon. I just need to get to my home computer, and then I'll send it to you via PM. Ok? Hopefully that will help you. It has a disclaimer screen and a credits screen you can easily modify and a bunch of other stuff. It even has badniks, but they were really terribly coded. Hopefully when you get it you can right my wrongs. Also, just a note: Although the credits screen only allows for block capitals with my version, if you can make a full font please refer to me as either toaster1 or TOASTER1. Toaster1 just makes me think of a silly thingy I remember from a few months ago.
  8. If you set the current room to persistent, there might be a problem when it comes to ending the level. Damizean left a whole can of goddamn worms for me to figure out when I started using the original Sonic Dash and persistent was turned on. Also, I'm going away on short notice! So I may not be able to work on the testing level tiles for a week. Sorry. :/ (also also also also: you NEED to get Overbound to help you with GSI!)
  9. Can't have either, because of some ingredients I don't know the name of that probably might mess with my medical condition or something. I never really had a taste for the stuff anyways. But I can have Sprite, which is owned by Coca Cola, so I guess I side with Cola on this one by proxy somehow? I dunno.
  10. I'll try and help, but I'm often scatterbrained and may not check up that often sometimes.
  11. Pixelisation would be good, yeah. Also, thanks! It's not perfect, though. If you look close enough you can see some pale blue where the antiaisaling[sic] of the logo brought the former white and blue together. That doesn't go well with the yellow... but at least yellow is a pale colour. I'm sure it'll look great at half that resolution, though.
  12. Actually, Overbound- reading about all the secret level stuff, maybe the Red Rings from Sonic Colours/Generations that have also been embraced by Worlds could be good for this purpouse. They may not be the most classic of things - but they work, and so far SEGA haven't used them badly. Also, the boss music is badass!
  13. I like Blazefire's the best, although honestly it's just a larger version of Overbound's but cleared up and with lighter colours... so I approve of them both. Hmn, wait, I have an idea. I'll make a shitty mockup of it in a moment. EDIT: Including components of Delta's in Blazefire's, for a best of all three worlds!
  14. I don't really mind the name at all, come to think of it Yeah, Sonic Dash+ is fine.
  15. I think it does Also, I'm ok with SDash+. I just don't like the gap, I guess.
  16. Yay! So it would be reffered to as SDash*, not Sonic Dash+ then. Great! I'll try and work on the tiles tommorow, ok? :]
  17. Maybe add options, based off a global variable? So people can choose what they want? Perhaps this engine could be more customisable than Sonic Worlds. SDash+ could be awesome. I really want to be involved with this, and I wish I could help. Maybe help advise? Port over, or code the customisation options? Dare I say make graphics for the example level and titlescreen, assuming we can't use the Azure Lake tiles? I was thinking maybe the title, instead of Sonic Dash +, could be SDash* or something.
  18. The problem with Sonic Genesis is that for some reason Windows Vista shits itself whenever the room_goto_next() function is used. And this only happens at the end of a level; I can go through the menu screen to the level itself and through the disclaimer using that function, and likewise with the credits, but I can't work on a game if I can't actually play it, let alone go through a personal coding crisis.
  19. I only coded one gimmick before I gave up on Sonic Genesis. It is one I would rather not publicise because I didn't finish it all the way through. It kept on breaking, and it is probably WHY I gave up on Sonic Genesis... Also, thanks for the advice. To be fair, I haven't even started trying to learn, so...
  20. I'll try but I lost all motivation to code and I really need to learn how to code properly, and in a real language, instead of fucking things over with GM all the time. I mean, I'm almost fifteen and I don't know how to code! How else could I possibly pick up nerdgirls and become rich!? (some of that was incredibly not so witty sarcasm but does represent some future ideals of mine.)
  21. The music, you say? I love all of the music. ALL OF IT It is top-notch-quality, as is typical of everything related to STT, and I congratulate you all on your progress so far!
  22. Does the SDash+ engine have starposts? Actually, do you want me to just post the Sonic Genesis gmk here? I'm probably not going to get much further at this, so...
  23. Sounds like it. I'll try to help but you know I'm incredibly sloppy at this.
