  1. People really like to make lists of things they made up to deter people for 3-4 days, don't they?
  2. "In space, no one can hear you scream for your money back."
  3. Oh, I wasn't even thinking character, haha. My head was in the game play clouds.
  4. I've gotta say inFAMOUS2 has opened my eyes to how fun Silver's gameplay could've been if Sonic 06 wasn't...Sonic 06. Replace lightning bolts with psycho kinesis powers and boom. Cole and Silver share some basic powers. Heck, one boss fight in inFAMOUS 2 had an optimal strategy of picking up cars and using your super powers to launch them towards a big beast. Was a pretty nice fight and at the end I went "WAIT, THAT WAS LIKE A SILVER BOSS...BUT MORE FUN!".
  5. This just in, this game has an amazing Japanese commercial. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gv3QuxcRhfg
  6. I really think Metal Sonic is cool. I understand and agree with fans who say he really doesn't deserve a lot of the love he gets for being used so sparingly but know what? Don't care. He looks really cool and robotic doppelgangers don't bother me like they do to people who really love to over analyze these characters. There aren't many Sonic characters I don't like at the end of the day, really.
  7. I was really thinking 2D/2.5D myself. Sonic 4 style basically. I know a lot of people wouldn't be tickled pink, but it's not the worst possibility. Of course the characters I had in mind were Tails, Knuckles, Metal Sonic, Shadow, etc.
  8. http://sonicredux.com/forums/ "What would an AI know about freedom?" METAL GEAR?! Yes, that's correct. If you're not in the know, Mister Bait-and-Switch himself is back in action. Literally, it's an action game. Kojima really likes Raiden. He seethes from the negative energy produced upon MGS2's release, and he allowed a calm chuckle once he knew players saw just how cool Raiden had gotten in MGS4. Now, he has decided that you, the player, are cool enough to act out those cut scenes; and beyond! Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is essentially a canon side-story in the Metal Gear Universe, taking place four years after the events of MGS4, the game follows Raiden suiting up in a new body and teaming up with a new support unit to help cut down enemies. The game's scenario is being handled by Kojima Productions, while the main development and character design is being handled by PlatinumGames, known for Vanquish, MadWorld, Anarchy Reigns, and Bayonetta. And, of course, in a past life they were known for making Okami, Viewtiful Joe, and God Hand. You know, in case you were wondering. So, what's the deal going to be with Revengeance's story? Good question! At the moment I've been keeping myself pretty spoiler-free. Sunny's back! Raiden's also going to have to deal with some dudes with storm-themed names...fittingly. Raiden has a pretty appealing support unit. It's safe to assume something tragic will happen to Raiden to make him snap back into his Jack the Ripper persona. Let's hope for the best for Raiden's family. Of course, the game packs those familiar MGS tropes such as codec calls, and cheesy situations/lines masterfully weaved against very serious plot situations and dialog. Raiden, this isn't a sneaking mission. Revengeance is an action game first and foremost, and sees Raiden having light and heavy attack buttons to fight with. If you've played Bayonetta it's somewhat similar to that, but whereas that game focused on skillful dodging and attacking enemies at the right time, Revengeance is fueled by the need to overwhelm every opponent and really just be a complete bad-ass. As opposed to dodging, you simply parry an attack, absorbing the power of a blow, and, if timed correctly, leading straight into a counter-combo. Lightning emits from Raiden's sword when striking and from his feet when running. You can "Ninja Run" to go up certain walls and presumably other surfaces. Early footage showed Raiden running on walls. It really all just feels good to play once you've got the hang of it. While the game allows for some "stealth" options (such as slowly walking up behind an enemy than jutting him through the chest with your sword), it's tough to say whether things like that will have anything other than a small focus in the final product. But that's not all. Revengeance boasts a "Free Blade" attack style, when your juice meter is adequately filled, you can press a button go to into Free Blade mode, decide your angle with the left stick, and use the right stick to hack away for as long as you've got juice. If you don't feel like making precise cuts you can use the heavy/light attack buttons to make automatic horizontal and vertical slices. Yeah, about like that. That my friends is a Zandatsu. The red box on the enemy cyborg (dismemberment is okay against cyborgs!!!!!!!), indicates the enemies' delicious spinal electrolyte. Raiden drinks dat like it's some fresh 'ol Kool-Aid. It refills his juice meter so he can continue to Cut At Will (Zandatsu). And that's about the gist of it! You're a bad-ass ninja cyborg with a lightning blade, that's all you need to know! TOOLS OF JUSTICE Adios, amigos! MGR:Revengeance has some pre-order bonuses going for it. 9. If the game makes it to Steam, it's always possible that it could go on sale in a few seasons, provided you're inclined.
  10. Golden Hedgy, we'd get along pretty well Sonic wise. Not too familiar with MLP/Maplestory/etc. But welcome!
  11. I actually finished White 2 myself lately. Felt good since I had been putting it off for a while. Amazingly I had no issue against the Elite Four. Now I just need to do some post-game grinding.
  12. To take that a step further, I think a collection of downloadable games following characters other than Sonic having their own adventures wouldnt be too bad an idea. Certainly the less risky way they could go about such, in my eyes.
  13. And I wasn't starting one then either? I'd consider all of it discussion and not arguing. Zoinks.
  14. My backlog of games keeps getting bigger and I keep finding myself with less time to play...I blame Playstation Plus

  15. SA3 discussion really is just an endless loop. Someone wants it, someone else usually says exactly what Shaun just said...haha. Man, just give me a good game, that's all I want. If it happens to be called "Sonic Adventure 3", so be it.
  16. With this constant stream of rumors lately I really don't know what to believe. Not letting myself get excited until I see screens/footage of any upcoming Sonic game.
  17. I really just listen to video game music, or anything remotely electronic when I come across it. I'm not big on lyrics, I'm all about the music. There's enough variety in all of it to keep me entertained, plus there's still a ton of great soundtracks out there I haven't listened to. Oh, also any groovin' disco I can get my grubby little hands on.
  18. I got Assassin's Creed III when it came out thanks to a sale, and quite honestly I have not felt the drive once to finish it. And I consider myself a huge fan of the main games before it. It's not radically different than the earlier titles, but maybe that's why I haven't felt compelled to beat it. I really should get back to it sometime, but man nothing about it was just popping out at me and begging me to play it. As for what I'm playing, I tend to keep my Backloggery signature image updated well enough. Bayonetta is my first action game and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I'm dying a lot on Normal, but I'm seeing why just about everybody sings praises for this game. It really is satisfying to dodge an attack at the last second, go into Witch Time, then just wail on enemies. Anarchy Reigns definitely isn't Platinum's strongest title (I haven't played Infinite Space though) but I'm having enough fun with it. Pretty neat game that makes me want to try God Hand even more. I think my favorite moment was in an online match where everything devolved into pure madness. A single "WHAT IS GOING ON" squeaked out of my speakers. Welcome to the rodeo. Pokemon White 2 has recaptured (teehee) my interest since the X/Y announcement. My team really isn't all that great, I'm just running around trying to buff them up a bit before the seventh gym. Enjoying myself well enough even so.
  19. Sonic Adventure, Christmas of '99 was the first game I ever played, so it's a very memorable game for me. I'm not sure any earlier game in the series would have hooked me in that same way as a kid.
  20. Yeah, it definitely seems like you've got some issues with the game Chex, but I feel like the reasons you listed may not be exactly what you were wanting to get across. I'm assuming the relation with the Katy Perry Sims thing was with Danica Patrick being in Transformed. I'll concede on that, but will also mention that Danica Patrick being involved in NASCAR gives that a little more leeway...a little more. You also say people were saying this is the best racing game ever, but I feel it's important to point out that people were more than likely alluding to other kart racers, like Crash Team Racing, Mario Kart, etc. I have never, ever seen anyone compare this game to more serious racing games / simulations, particularly not in the communities you don't get on with. Crash Team Racing, Mario Kart, and Diddy Kong Racing are the only comparisons I've seen, with some pointing out similarities to Blur since some former staff members from that game worked on Transformed. I don't know man, we've got a character that's a switcheroo between the Hornet, Afterburner Jets, and a VMU driving a Dreamcast controller. They even went to the point of recording the disc scratching in the Dreamcast itself for sound effects. If you handed this game off to some cookie-cutter company they never would have thought something that silly up. We're talking a dev team who put in four extra characters working over time just to make sure they got in, if they hadn't bothered or tried we'd be looking at a smaller roster. I love to feel the soul in games when I can tell the devs had a blast making the game, and I definitely felt that in Transformed. Different strokes different folks.
  21. Anarchy Reigns...must wait to play it. First...sleep!

  22. I love just about everything so far! I was hoping we could move past four-way movement after going full 3D but I can wait. I think the starters look great, I'm definitely picking Fennekin for my strut around PokeEurope. I'm also in the odd place of immediately liking all three starters for the first time in ages. I also think both Legendaries are great...really I'm just very optimistic for this game. I'm hoping my girlfriend has a 3DS by October, I plan on getting both versions anyway so it'd be nice to play through with her. though she still needs to beat my copy of HeartGold I"ve loaned to her...
