  1. Sweet! Now I have at least a couple games I won't embarrass myself by playing. CD I'll probably just be able to record off my laptop in a nice-enough quality. It'll also probably take us a good while to get to 06 and Unleashed and I've been wanting to upgrade from this janky DVD recorder I've got for ages. This'll give me enough time to save up some cash.
  2. Now that dibs are being called on the recent titles...I call dibs on Unleashed HD. EDIT: BLURPRODOGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
  3. I hope whoever eventually covers the Generations - Unleashed Project has a fantastic computer to record it...'cause I know I don't haha.
  4. Muahahah! All according to plan... EDIT: Also, no one has called Colors Wii or Unleashed HD or Unwiished. I could happily do one, some, or all of those. I'm much better with the modern games than the classics.
  5. This would be a good thing to do. Doing the actual games would definitely be cool, but doing fangames/hacks too would be more in line with the site's focus. Getting a good balance in with both would be great. I could do Sonic CD, but I'd be so reliant on a guide (I'd want to 100% it) that it probably wouldn't turn out well. Haha
  6. Alright, all split. I know Taz kinda reluctantly called it, but if you wanna relinquish that I'd happily do the play through for 06, plus I'm pretty good at it.
  7. Just jumping in real quick, Strong Gust would have the final say on anything related to this, but doing non-Sonic related content kinda defeats the purpose of putting it on a Sonic United YouTube so I wouldn't get hopes up for that... EDIT: Also, I'm going to split all of this off into its own topic here in a minute or so, haha.
  8. Honestly Unleashed is one of my favorite Sonic games, it's just hard to want to replay it because it's sluggish in the beginning. Once you've got some upgrades on the Werehog and gotten past the first two worlds it picks up in my eyes.
  9. My favorite Sonic game is easily Sonic Adventure. It's the very first video game I ever played, and I have fond memories of spending my first few weeks with it not having a VMU...which meant having to replay the beginning of the game each and every time I wanted to play the game... Thankfully we eventually made it to a Circuit City (dinosaurs roar) and got the see-through blue VMU I still use to this day. Hours upon hours upon hours of nostalgia really help make this my favorite Sonic game, and game in general. As a kid I was completely lost in the hub worlds, I'd always talk to every NPC after every stage to catch the ones who would say new things. It always seemed like there was somewhere new to go that I just hadn't found yet, as a kid I thought Station Square and Mystic Ruins were huge. (I had a huge fear of the jungle area as a kid, to this day I still get a bit nervous about getting lost in it), and the Egg Carrier was awesome to mess around in and transform. This is why I didn't particularly mind the hub worlds in Unleashed, it really took me back to that feeling. Sonic 06...not so much, despite being more similar. The storyline was very gripping to me as a child. I had never heard of Sonic before, but he was totally the coolest. He laughed at danger, selflessly helped his friends and was a character I looked up to. I envied Tails for getting to hang with Sonic, plus Tails was the dude with the awesome transforming plane. Sweet. Knuckles was a somewhat reluctant protagonist, Big just wanted to take it easy, Amy was...Amy and Gamma was an awesome robot. The idea of a giant water monster decimating a city was terrifying to me, but it gave me all the more drive to stop the threat. I liked seeing Big narrowly escape danger and high-tail it with his bud. And Gamma's story...let's just say I cried as a kid and still tear up nowadays... Yeah, by today's standards it's all aged, over-done, and very awkward. But I can still dig past that and see what made fascinated me as a child. The gameplay was fantastic..most of the time. To me, Sonic has the ideal control in Adventure. It feels seamless. I don't have to think about my limits when playing, it's just natural. He feels light, maneuverable, and like a rocket ready to burst. I'm fully familiar with the extent of his abilities and I just...get it. There's no thought involved, and I felt a very similar way when I finally got to play the first NiGHTS game last year. It's seamless and perfect in my eyes, for the most part. Sure, the game can be awkward and slow you down, or misread a homing attack or whatever. But for the most part, it's a delight to play even now, in 2013. Tails is Sonic but with the ability to fly, which is great. Knuckles has a capable radar and stages that aren't TOO expansive. Amy is...Amy. Big is just remembering where Froggy is which is easy after the first few goes. And Gamma really feels like an arcade shooter which is very appealing to me. The music, oh man the music. Gives this game so much of its personality. Crazy Robo was the first time I really stopped and just enjoyed the music when I was a kid, at 5. I had no idea what I was hearing, it just sounded so...cool. I'd play that boss fight over and over just to listen to the music. (Then I figured out the Sound Select... )That's just my favorite track in the game, I don't feel there is a bad track at all. I would give anything for another Sonic soundtrack to come together like this one. Yeah, it has Senoue grinding away on an electric guitar. But it's got jazz, funk, techno...all this stuff I immediately associate with Sonic. I've enjoyed quite a few of the soundtracks, and personally feel Unleashed has the technical best in the series...but Adventure will always be my favorite. Visually, the game has aged clearly. But it's still not a bad looking game. Emerald Coast, Speed Highway and Lost World are still some of my favorite locales in the series. I'm going to wrap this up here...just know that I love Adventure to death.
  10. Getting around and doing some commentary of sorts over fan games and hacks actually does sound kinda fun...
  11. I'm really just excited for Konami's show (to see more METAL GEAR?!), and for Nintendo's show. PS4 showed off most of its games already and unless they have more, E3 will probably focus more on the system itself. Which is all well and good, but I don't see myself getting one for a while. I'm not even going to acknowledge Xbox One here, even if they whip out a great line of exclusives I just can't wrap my head around it. If they come right out and address all the rumors that will give them some positives in my book, but...man. One odd year this go round. Really I just want release dates for all of these Wii U titles more than anything. I'm eager to play this console I bought Nintendo, just give me some games!
  12. Not too big a need to get snippy, either...
  13. I'm just not sure I understand what you're saying. Are you riffing on SA2 or are you comparing Green Hill In The Sky to San Francisco?
  14. Here's the full IGN preview: I dunno guys. This just keeps sounding better and better to me.
  15. I hope you're not in charge because I would like to have this on consoles...
  16. I'm just amazed no one has posted it yet. From the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151597278867418&set=a.406270927417.185036.23050342417&type=1&theater
  17. I don't see too big an issue with introducing new characters. I want to see some of the lesser-used characters come back as much as the next Sonic fan, but I also like seeing the world and mythos expand beyond the main characters. That's just me though. I love Chip (annoying little dude that he is) and think that Yacker is kind of cool. It just makes sense to me to introduce characters that are only relevant to one game alongside returning members of the cast. To be honest this is one game I would forgive for only having Sonic and Tails though...since they're the only ones we've seen traversing to this new world so far. And Eggman of course...since he's the bad guy and this is probably his fault somehow.
  18. I just hope the 3DS version is a worthwhile companion and won't reek of being an afterthought. Dimps hasn't impressed me with a Sonic game since Rush I'm afraid. I can't say the games they've made since have been bad (I really enjoyed Sonic Rush Adventure) but they just don't sit well with me.
  19. I've only ever played the first one. Always meant to pick these games up eventually but never did. Maybe I'll get this one...maybe...
  20. Also Mario & Sonic 4 for Wii U / 3DS (I think) but who cares SONIC LOST WORLD

    1. JPunxR

      JPunxR

For Nintendo only... -___- Damn you pricks.

  21. Confirmed by Satoru Iwata on today's Nintendo Direct as a Wii U and 3DS exclusive as part of a worldwide partnership with SEGA. Image showed Sonic and Tails on a plane heading towards a broken apart, dilapidated world. Immediate Sonic CD / Unleashed vibes shot through my body. Looking to see if anybody screenshotted it. EDIT: Found one, adding it to the OP.
