  1. ...I've never seen any of the Star Wars. Space-themed dramas just don't appeal to me. :P It's worth giving it a try though.

Same goes for fantasy stories like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. These stories get a little too deep for me to handle with very few exceptions (The Walking Dead). I'd rather take a simple and fun story than an incredibly dramatic one any day.

  2. If I have any emotions to say, it'd be mostly nervous. Mostly because I've had to take up a summer job and tons of loans to pay for private school, and it's left a pretty big hole in terms of expenses in my household. My parents don't want me to change schools since the school I got into is one of the best opportunities for art majors out there, but it's depressing to see them constantly worried about debt and expenses on top of them. It doesn't help that FASFA says we make too much money.

    I'll figure something out.

  3. Sonic Colors, if it wasn't obvious enough. XD

Not only did the gameplay excel in terms of platforming and mechanics (using Wisps are hella sweet), but the hilarious dialogue, fun characterization, incredible voice acting, colorful graphics and head-bangin' music made up the fabulous icing on the cake that was interesting enough to sell my soul to the Sonic franchise.

Oh, and because this is a scene.

  4.

The first video is called "19 Years and Counting - A Sonic the Hedgehog Q&A". The second video is called

"21 Years and Counting - A Sonic the Hedgehog Q&A - Part 2". The videos were made by Juan Ortiz (SomecallmeJohnny

on Youtube). His youtube name is literal. People do call him Johnny.

He is an animations major who also does animations for Chimneyswift11. Most of his videos consist of him reviewing

    games.

The videos is about Johnny interviewing the Blue Blur and his friends.

Johnny is a very good and kinda overlooked youtuber. I love whatever he creates whether it's his animations or his reviews.

These 2 videos are no exception.

Somecallmejohnny's video's are awesome! He makes some spectacular reviews even outside of Sonic games, not to mention he's a pretty good animator. :)

  5. I'll start us off with this popular video I found on Sonic Stadium.

This is Sonic Lost Word's Parkour Engine by MarkandFlops. MarkandFlops has made other Sonic animations as well, and he's known for his cartoony approach on his Sonic and MLP animations. Loads of exaggerated and hilarious expressions here folks. He's also done the opening animation for The Sonic Show.

The video features Sonic, Tails and Eggman testing out the new parkour engine on Lost World. Hilarity ensues.

I really like MarkandFlops's animations. While there not the most beautifully artistic videos of Sonic you'll find, they make up for it in how hilarious they are, which wins me over any day.

  6. One thing I've enjoyed in the Sonic community is their ability to make fun of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise itself. There's tons of hilarious videos made by fans everywhere that parody the blue hedgehog's adventures and his friends. I've made this topic to celebrate those videos, so we can laugh and discuss and all that jazz.

HOWEVER, WE ARE AVOIDING POST-AND-RUN SCENARIOS HERE, SO HERE'S THE RULES EVERYBODY:

    1. You must post a video. To embed videos, hit the SpecialBBCode button (it's two buttons above the Underline button) then select media and paste the video URL into the URL box, then hit OK.
    2. You must discuss the person who made the video. Did they make other Sonic/SEGA videos that you know? If so, how are they with making Sonic videos? Do they animate videos, edit clips, etc.? If you don't know the videomaker well, are you interested to see what else they made?
    3. YOU MUST COMMENT ON THE VIDEO AND WHAT YOU THOUGHT OF IT. This is MANDATORY. Discuss in short what's going on (you don't have to spoil the punchline), and what you liked in the video. Is there anything you'd like to see different? What's you favorite moment in the video?

REMEMBER: IF YOU JUST POST A VIDEO, IT WILL BE ASKED TO BE TAKEN DOWN.

We're here to celebrate the hilarity of Sonic, and recognize some awesome videos out there. So remember the rules and have fun!

  7. I don't know what needs to be said about this game that hasn't already been said before. Woah nelly, this game.

For those of you who are unaware (and I'm assuming that's like 3 of you at this point XD), Sonic Omochao Edition is a fan hack by Cinossu and QJimbo of Sonic Retro. Basically, OmoChao follows you around the entire game. Whenever he wants to state the obvious, the game pauses itself, accompanied by a little jingle that gets longer every time you touch or hit an object in the game. And the jingle gets longer. AND LONGER. AND LONGER.

So how to you put an end to OmoChao's eternal annoyance? You just have to avoid and evade EVERY THING IN THE LEVEL.

Here's a video example of the game:

I love this hack, for everyone's information. It's such a simple concept, but at the same time, it's INGENIOUS. You now have an incredibly high level of challenge to set for yourself in Sonic 1, not to mention how HILARIOUS the concept is alone.

So everyone, thoughts on Sonic Omochao Edition? Did you find it hilarious, or do you loathe the game? And has anyone here gotten a perfect run, because I sure as hell haven't (but I was THIS CLOSE!).

  8. I still want my Chao Garden because...

well, this is how I put it, when ever I start getting

tired/bored of playing a stage, I just want to go to

the Chao garden and enjoy myself by raising the

Chao, its just so much fun to me. pretty much a

break from the actual game and raise the little

cute creatures ya know. It's just something I wish

they could bring back, I would LOVE that. I mean

sure, we have SA1/DX and SA2/B, but I wonder

what other ideas do they plan on bringing to the

new garden IF they do bring it back.

That's understandable. We would just have to wait and see if SEGA decides whether the Chao garden should be included again or not.

  9. Welcome to the forums IceHedge and OHOHO1227.

There's plenty of weed fun going on in the forum.

I love that little gif you have there OHOHO1227.

    Nice to meet you!

The GIF's from the Dumb Running Sonic blog. It's full of hilarity.

Or in the case of this forum, high-larity! *tomato throwing*

Hi everyone! I'm OHOHO1227, and I've joined as of June 24, 2013. Not much to say except I'm a huge fan of Sonic (like everyone here), with Sonic Colors being my favorite game. I enjoy analyzing far too deeply into stories containing blue hedgehogs and two-tailed foxes, playing platform-style gaming, and eating caramel chews.

I'm also a more recent fan of Sonic. While most people became fans around the Classic or Dreamcast era, I became a fan with Colors. Proves that no matter what point in your life you play Sonic, you can still become a part of the community, huh? :)

And I like animation in general, so if you ever wanna think too deeply about children's cartoons just ask me, okay? OKAY.

  11. At this point in time it only stands as a rumor, but I'm definitely waiting for when the facts come out. Honestly, the writing for MLP:FiM isn't necessarily bad, if only cliche ever now and again. Dave Polsky, the supposed writer for "Sonic Boom," has written both good and okay episodes for MLP:FiM, so I think he'll do an pretty good job with the show. Sonic is a generally lighthearted cartoon, so a comedic Sonic cartoon would help to reel in new and old Sonic fans rather than hinder it.

  12. I've played a few Sonic games I was a kid, but I didn't become a fan until Sonic Colors, where I saw the fun gameplay elements mixed with enjoyable dialogue and SPECTACULAR artwork. I'm pretty sure when I saw this photo in the trailer after playing it at a friend's house I was hooked.
