  1. Awesome. Let's just hope "plans to" equates to "will do".
  2. Now I'm getting it. How the hell does that happen? I mean, I have to use Firefox because of this shit. AGAIN. Not that I hate Firefox, I'm just more comfortable using Safari. But man, oh man.
  3. Odd. I'm not seeing a SafeBrowsing warning loading the page. :/
  4. Remember that Progressive ad that ila posted on the last page? Progressive's got it on YouTube now.
  5. To quote an old ..."The world may never know." @Strife: This is turning out nicely.
  6. Minors can't vote, run for office, etc. But contacting your congressmen/women is something that anyone at MOST any age can do. Provided you know how to get ahold of them, of course.
  7. I'm fairly certain there's no age requirement to get in contact with your congressman/woman.
  8. I'm pretty scared for this bill. Particularly not because of what it imposes for SFGHQ, but what it also imposes on aspiring musicians. Folks who get famous for singing covers of songs or who just plain sing covers songs for the joy of it will be fined and imprisoned for doing so. And sites like Soundcloud and Tindeck could be viewed as portals of piracy. I'm convinced that this bill stifles creativity and innovation across the board, not just for music and fan gaming. I read up on the news that apparently, SOPA was such a big deal that the US ambassador to Spain basically forced the current ruling power (in Spain) to pass a similar bill.
  9. Thanks, Smidge. I'll keep that in mind for when I do get this thing raring to go. I don't have all the parts for it to be operational as of yet (RAM, processor, HDD, etc), so I thought since I got the motherboard and the case it'd be great to ask you guys.
  10. Not too long ago, I had bought a Gigabyte motherboard and had recently picked up an old Asus computer I thought would make for a decent case. The first USB and audio connectors are in fine, as are the appropriate switch and LED connectors. The second USB has me confused. Particularly, the wiring for DC+/- 1 and 0. The installation guide refers to the +/- 1 and 0 pins as DX and DY. The USB header cable has a reference attached to it that refers to the same pins as +/- 1 and 0. I want to rectify this issue now before I power it on for the first time (after getting every other part for it, that is). I attempted a search on Google, but the results were irrelevant to this issue. Any help is appreciated. Edit: I confused something in writing this, so I fixed it.
  11. Less than 5 hours here. So, to kill off the time, I'm watching the Blues Brothers with the family.
  12. Sega needs to fire the marketing folks for this game period.
  13. You win. So, as far as anything else goes, it probably won't be shown for months, knowing Sega's campaign for Episode 1. You know, since they said that they're doing it again for Episode 2. ...fucking twerps.
  14. Oh, I'm not saying it's good at all. I mean, I'd be pissed if someone shat on my car. But I'd never go off and say "any attention is good attention." Especially in that case. I'm just saying that these things have one purpose and the trailer fulfilled its purpose.
  15. It did its job. It got your attention. Last I checked, teasers didn't need to have footage of the game to be called such. And yeah, I guess seeing that visual style over and over (read: Sonic 4 trailers and the Sonic CD trailers) gets annoying. But if they're including this and Sonic CD in a saga of it's own, then the visual consistency with the trailers is nothing worth pointing a stick at. Personally, I don't mind it all. Just so long as the advertised product works like it should, then it's fine.
  16. What they revealed after the teaser trailer seems pretty promising. Talk is cheap, but I'm fairly certain this will turn out better. Ken Balough did say that the advertising campaign will be basically the same as the one for Ep. 1, save for some minor changes and Webber not being there. Also, speaking of Ken, I admit, that was pretty awesome what he did with his beard and sideburns.
  17. Sorry for the bump and double post. GameSpot and Sega are finally putting out the first trailer for Sonic 4 Ep 2 tomorrow, so I'm watching cautiously. Brad, I hope they implemented the feedback you guys gave them. Otherwise, it'll be fated to be mediocre like the episode before it. Well, in regards to physics and level design.
  18. Robotnik Claus approves. I got Sonic Generations and a Moon nightlight. But the best gifts were the ones I had been given before Christmas. NI Massive (because progressive house, man) and a new pair of Sennheisers.
  19. What crack are you smoking and where can I get it? No offense, but Sonic CD, IMO, is up there with the Genesis games in quality (Hell, it was made in the same era, too! 1993 ftw). :/ Plus, the Retro Engine created by Taxman was used in this very remake of Sonic CD. Well, Taxman himself was working on this.
  20. Trust me, Worm, it's well worth the purchase. If your 'pod's got a retina, it looks even better!
  21. Sonic CD on PSN, you say? In the US, it comes on the 20th. In Europe, well, it's already out. And yes, it's now out on Android and iOS. I grabbed the iOS version and it runs super smooth. Do note that iOS 5's notifications usually tend to incur a rather small drop in framerate, but it's not too bad. :I
  22. Perhaps you might need to adjust your settings, LH. :/
  23. 5) Angry Birds Seasons (iOS/Android) Technically speaking, it's a game from last year. Rovio's continued updates to Angry Birds Seasons have kept level content fresh, despite being somewhat repetitive. With the most recent addition of the '2012 seasons' have come a new bird and more challenging levels themed around Christmas and Halloween. It's a casual game, but it's got it's charm. 4) Sonic Generations (X360/PS3/PC) While not without it's flaws, Generations was a much needed crescendo for HD console Sonics in wake of the horridness from 2006 to 2010 (excluding Colors). Sonic Generations added a few new features and took care of other issues found in Sonic Unleashed. Red rings from last year's Colors and new 'Challenge acts' were added for additional replay value. Out was the Werehog (now sitting in a dimensional prison cell, according to Archie comics*) and in was Classic Sonic. Classic Sonic, in himself, isn't as bad as the Werehog, but still felt just a bit off. Just a bit! However, the game is still pretty short and is lacking in level content. Overall, Sonic Generations is a small step in the right direction for console Sonic games. *That bit was meant in humor. Sonic Universe pokes fun at the Werehog by having him in prison in the 'No' Zone. 3) Pinball FX 2 (X360) I'm probably one of the few on these here forums that loves a good pinball game. Pinball FX 2 is not a good pinball game. It's not even a game at all. Pinball FX 2 is actually more of a frontend made for playing pinball games, and is quite stellar. Released in the last quarter of 2010, Pinball FX 2 has managed to continually be amazingly fun and fresh throughout the whole year by means of additional DLC and post-release support. This year alone has seen the release of the Marvel Pinball DLC and additional tables that were also released for Zen Pinball on the PS3. What's even better is that there are more tables are coming today, courtesy of the Marvel Pinball: Vengeance and Virtue DLC pack. Pinball FX 2 is a no-brainer for those who enjoy Pinball. 2) Daytona USA (PS3) HD re-releases are the new trend for downloadable games, and Daytona USA is, by far, one of the best I've played. It looks good on the PS3 hardware and plays like an arcade racer, which means it does its job pretty well. Carried over from the old arcade game are the beginner, intermediate, and expert courses in addition to newer mission modes and karaoke. New modes aside, Daytona USA also includes support for most PS3-compatible wheels including the Logitech Driving Force GT. In other words, if you feel that playing with a wheel and pedals is the most nostalgic way to play this, then this game doesn't disappoint. 1) Forza Motorsport 4 (X360) How could you not see this coming from me? Forza Motorsport 4 is a continued evolution of the franchise that started out in 2005. FM4 brings improvements and features across the board. Instantly noticeable is the improved graphics. In-game racing models have more detail, the new lighting model is superior to Forza 3's, and there are new environments that show this off. Also added is TopGear integration (part of a multiyear deal MS signed with TopGear), which ranges from Clarkson-narrated Autovista experiences to Car Bowling and soccer (née football/futbol). Autovista, one of the new modes, offers astonishingly detailed, in-depth car 'guides' with narration from Peter Egan and of course, Jezza himself. Jeremy's narrations are not edited, so you get his views, nasty or exceptional, on all of the cars available for perusing. Another new feature is the 'World Tour' career mode. World Tour gives you more of a feeling of doing a racing season by means of a nifty UI. However, if you're expecting the seasons to be easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy, then you're in for a surprise. The AI, in world tour mode, is designed to increase in difficulty as you progress. This increase in difficulty varies from tuning and upgrading their cars to even becoming more aggressive drivers. I'd love to go on and on, but you've probably bored yourself by reading all of this. TL;DR: Forza 4 is my favorite game of 2011. I'll edit when I can remember what I thought was the honorable mention for this year.
