  1. I've been playing the GBA version all this time. I just got the DS version a couple of days ago. The DS version has more content. A whole new mission set, new sims to meet, new objects, a new island, new stuff placed around the town, new mini games. Though it's kinda lacking polish compared to the GBA version. There's a few small graphical and sound issues. Nothing game-breaking, but you can tell that there was less care put into it than the GBA version despite the new content. There's a lot more purple in the DS version as well which kinda makes it lose some of its charm. I'd say it's worth getting the DS version if you want to replay the game. It's still pretty good.
  2. What's your favourite video game of all time, and why? Mine is The Urbz: Sims in the City. I'm specifically talking about the handheld version released for the GBA and DS. The console version is entirely different, and terrible in comparison. It's an action adventure life simulator. You are in direct control of your sim and explore a large city doing missions and tasks to progress the story. There's tons of areas to explore and many people to meet with all different kinds of mini games to play and houses to live in. It's incredibly addictive and full of content. I've had the game for nearly 9 years and it's still fun to play. I'm still discovering new secrets. It has given me lots of fond memories. I can't say that about many other games. If you're a fan of Animal Crossing or any other games in the sims series, then I recommend trying this one out.

  4. In general? Hmm... I'd say Mario 64 is the best platforming game I've played so far. It's just pure platforming for the most part, done really well. Levels are unique and memorable, as well as the music.
  5. Keep all discussion on spoilers for Sonic Lost World in this thread. There is no need to use spoiler tags in this thread. Footage of the first half hour of Sonic Lost World has been leaked onto the internet. You may watch it here:
  6. Might as well bring this to your attention (by theEyZmaster):
  7. SEGA has been marketing Sonic towards the 6-11 crowd lately. I don't think that'll be changing for a while unfortunately. But yeah. Sonic's torso and spikes looks odd. Knuckles as a whole looks weird. Is there really any need for character redesigns?
  8. Haven't been keeping up with this game. Did I miss something? o.o
  9. I grew up with Mario 64 and the Sonic Adventure series. I've kinda lost a lot of interest in Mario lately. I guess I'm just a casual Mario fan right now. I used to be really into the main series games when I was younger though.
  10. I'm starting to really like how the 2D candy level looks (Desert Ruins Act 3). I hope there's a full 3D act like it.
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=8rbPDNxf1vw A new trailer for Sonic Lost World has been released, showcasing the boss battles in the game.
  12. Sonic Lost World has introduced a brand new art style. It's fairly simple and uses a lot of flat colours, allowing the game to run at 60fps. There has been a lot of controversy regarding the new art style change. What's your thoughts on the subject? I prefer a more grounded, detailed, somewhat realistic art style, but with whacky concepts. Sonic Colours on the Wii nailed it in my opinion. Sonic Lost World still looks pretty good, and the game running at 60fps is pretty nice, but I do prefer the older art style.
  13. What's your thoughts on the music for Sonic Lost World? I think the music is turning out to be decent. I'm not sure if it'll be on Sonic Colours levels of good, but so far I like it. A few tracks from the game can be heard. I have embed them below. Some have SFX in them, but you can still hear the music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LExFNC-oEOc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3kkKhZ4KPI More links: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOcHObbSXSk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtokWaCaBH4
  14. I wasn't aware that changes like that were made. Interesting.
  15. Currently playing through Mirror's Edge on hard mode.
  16. Sounds pretty good to me. Looking forward to it.
  17. My biggest issue with the game is the tube inspired aesthetics. Apart from that, I'm looking forward to it.
  18. I'll keep trying. I look forward to replaying Sugar Splash. It's probably my favourite zone in the game.
  19. Same unfortunately. I haven't been able to get past the boss in the third zone.
  20. We have discussed how well Sonic Adventure holds up, and now we are moving onto discussing how well the sequel holds up. Sonic Adventure 2 is the sequel to Sonic's first big 3D title Sonic Adventure. It was released in 2001 for the SEGA Dreamcast, which was shortly later put to rest. It's currently most well received 3D Sonic game on Metacritic, and the second most well received Sonic game overall on Metacritic. A year later an updated version was released for the Gamecube which introduced some new features while at the same time introducing new problems. The updated version was met with a decent reception. It went onto being a best seller for the Gamecube. In 2012 the game was ported to HD systems, but introduced even more new problems. The sound often glitches, and the controls are overly sensitive and twitchy in this version. Overall it seems that it wasn't optimized correctly for the HD systems. The 2012 port was met with a mixed reception, but was in the digital charts for many months regardless. Sonic Adventure 2 is 11 years old. How well do you think it holds up today? I personally believe it holds up pretty well. Graphically it still looks good. Gameplay-wise it's still enjoyable despite the genre roulette in story mode. Level design isn't as open as in the first Sonic Adventure title, but it's still fun regardless. There's some issues with the controls at times, but I find them to work well enough for the most part. Keep in mind I'm talking about the original version of the game, which has less technical issues than the rereleases. Story-wise, it's still entertaining and enhances the overall experience. I find myself going back to the game a few times per month. I'm aware of the fanbase recently having a more negative outlook on the game, but it's still one of my favourite Sonic titles regardless. I'd like to hear your opinion on the subject.
  21. It's alright. Good for kids who are clumsy, but it just looks... odd. I'll be sticking with my 3DS XL.
