Sean Schemmel who is the original voice of Black Doom in 2005’s Shadow the Hedgehog revealed February 2, 2024 how he had reauditioned for the role of Black Doom for SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS. Unfortunately, Sean Schemmel stated they decided not to use him.

Wait a second I did not realize this is out and I did re-audition for this and apparently they decided to not use me so I don’t know what is going on.

Sean Schemmel responds to a fan questioning if he is reprising his role as Black Doom in SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS.

I mean I’m not certain yet. But I certainly have not worked on this game yet.

Schemmel clarifies further.

SEGA has often held reauditions for past voice actors and turned them down for various reasons, including fan favorite Sonic the Hedgehog voice actor Ryan Drummond. This news is dated to February 2, 2024, so it’s possible voice work had not commenced at this time and Schemmel might have acquired the role since. We’ll update you once we hear more.
