SEGA Confirms Knuckles Not Playable in Sonic Origins Sonic CD Port

SEGA has officially confirmed Knuckles the Echidna will only be playable in Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Knuckles will not be playable in Sonic the Hedgehog CD.

Sonic Origins is set to be released digitally June 23rd, 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

It’s definitely a bummer when you consider that they managed to make Tails playable and it’s the Taxman/Stealth build of the game that has existed for 10 years now. It’s not like they had to make the whole thing from the ground up and cut corners.

Even so, Knuckles in Sonic 1 with widescreen (plus everything else that Origins offers) still makes it a compelling purchase.
