  2. Topic on SSMB || Topic on SFGHQ/United /// DOWNLOAD /// /// LISTEN THE SOUNDTRACK /// /// LIST OF PLAYTHROUGHS /// Credits: Damizean, Chaos Rush, NeKit, Wolfxbane101, Goncalo Lopes, DanielMania123, HoMax, Overbound, Nefault1st, Jeremy Smith, Marvin Valentin, Jake Kim, Toni Leys, Fasseh. I am proudly introducing a Sonic fan game titled Sonic Game Land. This fan game powered by Sonic Revival Engine and made on Game Maker 8.0 is featuring six playable characters, five game modes and four different stages along with gameplay inspired by Sonic Riders, Sonic Rivals and Sonic R. Yes, this is racing platformer with laps feature. Storyline is inspired from Sonic Colors. I really enjoyed this game while watching footages on YouTube and actually playing it via Dolphin emulator. Here is briefing of storyboard: “Have you ever wondered what role the “Game Land” planetoid in Sonic Colors plays? Why it has form like Sonic’s face? Where the Sonic Simulator are really from? Maybe Dr. Eggman has created the planetoid as a plan “B”? You’ll find all the answers in a new story, coming soon, about many, many hedgehogs!” So on, I'm want to tell more about Game Land and Robo-Hedgehogs. Story started after events of Sonic Colors, where planet Game Land (Sonic Simulator) came back to the orbit of Mobius. Gotta say this is still WIP, and actually all game elements are WIP. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAJXuUz27P0 SGL has been announced to Sonic Amateur Games Expo and, at that point, showed itself as unbelievably buggy game. Seriously, I looked into old videos from SAGE and facepalmed yourself for a many times. Fortunately, game already has received followers and reviews that allowed me to improve it in many ways. I felt like that my idea with racing concept is really working. I have returned to SAGE in 2014 and won a bit more attention. I was very glad about it. In addition, SGL became as entry ticket to Sonic community. I really appreciate all what I got during the development of the game – art, friends and especially music. And I am don’t mind to get more help. If you have advices or suggestions – leave them below. If you found bugs – report them here. If you want to help with sprites, codes or music – let me know. Not sure that I can thank you materially, but I hope we can get a really good product in final. Enjoy!

  5. I would like to start off this topic by saying thank you to everyone who played Sonic Adventure Emerald at SAGE 2014 Act 2! I got a lot of good reception from the critics (especially Sonic United XD) and this has been the best SAGE yet for me. So the main nitpicks I received were faults with the graphics, controls, level design and such. While I did mostly modify the source engine by myself (with some coding ported from the Sonic Fan Dev Engine), I have to admit I'm not an advanced spriter or coder. I can code basic things but other than that .-. So I'm looking for these kinds of people for assistance on firstly, my current project Sonic Adventure Emerald and then a Classic Sonic game I have in mind. If you're interested please reply to this topic or contact me via Skype (bartmantheawesome). Thank you.
  6. Sonic Adventure Emerald 31st August 2014 UPDATE I know this is a little late but there was a demo of my fan game at SAGE 2014 Act 2 and is still available for download: Mediafire: http://www.mediafire.com/download/ki0a6zxc70z46fq/Sonic+Adventure+Emerald+SAGE+2014+Demo.zip YoYo games: http://sandbox.yoyogames.com/games/228781-sonic-adventure-emerald-sage-2014-demo {All further demo releases and updates will be posted here} Original Description Why, hello there everyone! Around these parts I'm known as Bartman The Awesome or in simpler terms Bartman814, the leader of Sonic Fan Dev Guild. I have recently joined the Sonic United forums and I'm rather happy to be part of this community =3 So what is this topic about, you might be asking yourself. Well since this is in "Fan Game Showcase" that should give you a hint that I will be telling you about my fan game called Sonic Adventure Emerald. The game started development in December 2011 with the first demo being released in May 2012 with three stages. The next demo, dubbed the "Summer Demo" was released with 3 new stages in August 2012. The most recent demo of the game, the "1 Year Demo" was released on 19th March 2013, adding a new stage totalling up to 7 stages thus far. You can play these versions on my Yoyo games page but bear in mind this is not the 2014 version of the game. The current version of this game started development in August 2013, which happened between a Skype conversation with me and The True Power of Teamwork as he offered to clean up the game a bit. After his part was done I decided to make some of the graphics neater and add elements from the Sonic Fan Dev Engine, the engine Sonic Fan Dev Guild was working on at the time. The game is close to completion as 8 of the 10 stages plus several challenge areas have been completed and a version of SAE will be playable at SAGE 2014 Act 2. Also check out my YouTube channel for more updates on the game! There's also my team Sonic Fan Dev Guild's channel to check out too!
  7. Hi, my name's Corey, and I'm new to this forum. I'd like to get people to know me better, so here goes: I've played through Sonic 1, 2, 3, S&K, Sonic CD, Sonic Adventure (1 and 2), and Sonic Heroes. I haven't played any of the more recent games, such as the infamous Sonic '06, Sonic Unleased, Colors, Generations, or Lost World. A lot of people have said that there are Sonic fangames that are better than the ones made in recent years. I wouldn't know anything about that, but I have played and enjoyed LakeFeperd's Sonic fangames (Before/After the Sequel and Chrono Adventure). What I'd like to know is, what other Sonic fangames are worth playing? Now, what I'm looking for mostly are completed fangames (but demos and hacks are fine, too). If you're going to recommend me a fan game, please tell me whether it's completed or not so I can know ahead of time. Thanks in advance. Corey
  8. Well I was a bit bigger in developing games around 1 - 2 years ago but hey I still have some of the magic. I kinda been missing out on this community lately and I was an early member on this site and I mean early member as in I was here when it was made but anyways I have done various game designing as well as Art and Music development. I see A LOT of posts about people 'trying' to start the next hit Video-Game but they have nothing to show. I'm willing to help those who ALREADY have something drawn out and sorta developed. What I mean is if you don't have ANY concepts drawn out, no screen caps of current project or not even a dedicated engine then there really isn't much I can do since you have no information that you can supply me with and with no information how can I help But if you do have something already drawn out I might be able to help. I'm NOT going to completely design and develop your game! I will help with some tasks - given that they aren't impossible and extremely time consuming - I will also give pointers and such and help lead you to a successful project so you won't make the same mistake that I have made in my past lost game projects :/ Reason why I'm wanting to do this is to give back to the community that I miss and it would be sick to see something become big or become a successful game that the community built. Also this is all out of the kindness of my heart so please DO NOT pay me hahaha I don't want your money ahahha Now I don't want to come off as some AMAZING, TOP 10 game developer because I am not that hahaha I am just a dude who enjoyed developing games as a hobby and did some minor projects in my past. Here is the list of programs I have experience in: Unity 3D - used to develop my 3D games at which I am best at (I suck at UDK!) Blender AutoDesk 3Ds Max FragMotion RPG Maker (back when I was just a young little game developer around 5+ years ago maybe 8 I don't really know it was a long time ago hahah) Photoshop Corel Painter X3 Sony Vegas Pro (been using this for YEARS) Fl Studio (I am a music artist as well ) Cool Edit Pro (music engineering / producing / editing) and various other programs I know not all of these are 'game engines' but they all have some important aspect to game development and it's to give some background of various programs that I used so you have an idea of my background and to see if I am of use. Now for a some images of my works here are some pictures - Project Blue - my sonic game Random 3D Renders of a Home that I was trying to make some game Music stuff Check my soundcloud - but of course not ALL of my music is there I am very open and can design / engineer 'almost' any style of music...just takes time SoundCloud - Need something I didn't post? Just post a reply and I will see if I can do it or match it. Need some pieces of art that I have done? I can post some too! Haha overall I'm not AMAZING but I think I might be able to help some people -Edit- Coding languages that I have some experience in but am a little rusty is - C# C++ Java Visual Basic and been a security annalist for webpages and such so I have a background in Python and others
  9. Hello, happy people! Welcome to Eggman's Interste---Hold on a moment...ah! Wrong script. *shuffles notes* Hello, there! I'm InfinityAlex. Some of you may have seen me around the site lately teasing something big for, initially, United's launch. However, due to a lack of prep time, we had to postpone to November, but none of that matters right now. I'm happy to announce Sonic United's first fan game parade, starting on the 25th of November! You see, when Strong Gust and I started talking about planning something big for the launch and we want the site to have it's own thing going on, I came up with the idea of organising this (Yes, I have thunder to be stolen now, guys! I'm the organiser) event to attract people to the forum, as this community's pretty big on fan games. So, without further ado, I present you the roster for this event's first edition: InfinityAlex & DaHog: Sonic Sigma 1 Act Demo Dash the Koopa: Sonic Boost 2 Act Demo Strong Gust: The Sonic Legend 1 Act demo *SPECIAL GUESTS* ------------------------- Nefault1st: Salom Adventure Demo (Amount unknown at this time.) This is the roster as it currently stands. However, we are still accepting entries, so if you want to join, apply below, telling us your developer name, your game and the amount you'll be showing. If you do want to join, here are the guidlines: All entries must be sent to me by Sunday the 24th November 11pm GMT/6pm EST. If you are planning a collaberation, then it goes without saying you must be using the same program, be it Game Maker or MMF2. You must credit everyone involved in the game's making. This can be just in a forum post when I put out all the games (though hopefully we'll be able to have our own section of the site, please, Strong Gust ). You must put a disclaimer in your game for legal reasons. You are allowed to reuse music and sprites from other sources, but again, state that they are not your own. I'll be sharing more details as we get closer to the date. Anyway, let me know what you think about all this! Unless you're going to send me hate mail, which should then be sent to my vice-organiser, DaHog. Anyway, tune in next time for more on this event, same United-time, same United-channel (It's definitely 1966, Taz). P.S.: We tried to get LakeFeperd in, but he's busy...
  10. Like what the thread title says, any of you guys play SEGA games on emulators? If so what games and what emulators? My brother usually plays a couple, depending on emulator.
  11. Salom Adventure. http://www.sonicfangameshq.com/forum/showthread.php?p=161731 Three words to summarise it? Gameplay. Music. Polish. Okay and fancharacters. BUT WAIT. These fancharacters, for this game, they're just like skins. They play exactly like you would think of Sonic and Shadow to play... in a fusion of Classic (as in 1-3&K) and Modern (as in Rush series) gameplay. And trust me, it's polished as hell and this gameplay fusion works really well. GAMEPLAY Your moveset ranges from Chaos Spears with Vermin/Shadow and Spindash with Salom/Sonic. It all blends really well and actually fit's the game's subtitle "The Flow of the Wind". It's very obvious this custom engine is full of effort. The level design, while it may be hard, it always make you keep trying to do better and even when it seems like you're stuck, there's a way out. The flow is really kept through the stage as long as you know what you're doing, a formula introduced by the Classics, improved by this game with its fusion with the Rush gameplay formula. Now why talk when I can show you?! Yup, this game even has Green Hill and Radical Highway as bonuses! The game is loaded with extra content too, for a demo at that. There's this Arcade Center and there's a number of minigames. 6 if I am not wrong. MUSIC You know, the Arcade? I composed a song for the second set. The driving one and the boomerang one. https://soundcloud.com/gottagofas/salom-adventure-minigame-2 Anyways, back on topic. The OST is filled with house and DnB, with touches of trance and other genres. In my opinion, it really works well with the game and it shows a new perspective of how basing the soundtrack on the game's feel mostly instead of specific levels can still keep it fresh. ART Most of the art here is made by Nefault1st, with help from Lyoko Blight and Jotex. It really feel Sonicy and has a polished look. As I'm not a huge artist, I have no idea how to expand this section, I'm sorry :V FINAL THOUGHTS It's a good game hidden behind fancharacters. It really is. I hope you guys get behind it and play the game and do listen to its awesome OST. Gameplay: 8.5/10 Music: 8/10 Art: 7.5/10 Others: 6/10 Final Score: 7.5/10 Rating: Awesome! Try the game out yourself by downloading it from the SFGHQ link at the top of the topic.
