Personally I think she's different enough from Sonic. Look at Klonoa and Mickey Mouse. They look very similar to Sonic but different enough to not be associated with him. Know what I mean?

This is just my opinion, but you really shouldn't show off every single little detail about your game. Leave some up to the actual releases or the magic is gone.

The first zone is somewhat of a remake of the Game Gear version of GHZ. It's the obligatory tropical island level. Aside from that the zones are much more unique. The zones from the old demo are still in. Basically, I really had to get a new engine in order to counter the problems with the FPS that the old version had. In turn, I also redid the level design instead of remaking the old dated levels when I could improve them much more. Just to prove it's not a remake, here are some screens of the other zones in the SAGE demo.

I really like this website being Sonic focused. There are plenty of other websites devoted purely to making amateur games.

Does anyone know where to find some ripped Ristar tilesets? The game has a similar art style to Sonic (not so much the isometric foregrounds, but the backgrounds) and I can think of several areas I'd like to pick apart and edit. I've seen them used in various fangames and images before, so I'm guessing they're out there somewhere. Help a brother out?

Looks good to me! Except palm trees don't really strike me as candy themed. If you want something tree-like to decorate the level, how about candy canes or something?
