  1. ...Wow. The hatred, vitriol and overall negativity here is astounding. I can see that this was the wrong place to ask for an opinion on this subject. Frankly, I feel that I should remain the open-minded (though wiser) Sonic fan I've always been, if only to avoid the miserable alternative I've seen in this topic. Could one of the mods please close this? I'm done with it...and, honestly, this forum, too. I really don't belong here. (And Streak, I believe I've already responded to you on deviantART.)
  2. Well, it seems like hatred for the Sonic franchise has reached another threshold thanks to Sonic Boom. Shattered Crystal's critical response has been lukewarm, while Rise of Lyric has been doing terribly worse. People are already calling it Sonic '14. I myself have recently taken my second sabbatical from the Sonic series, in order to decide whether or not I still want to be a fan or not. As of late, I've gotten sick of the negativity and vitriol this franchise has been accumulating since the death of the Dreamcast. Honestly, I'm beginning to think that maybe the haters are right and that Sonic isn't worth supporting anymore, that he'll never be respected again, and that it's time to give up. Sonic's been a big part of my life since I was 4, but if he's going to continue to draw one negative response after another that I have to deal with as a fan, then it's not something I think I want to endure anymore. So, I ask you. Why are YOU still a Sonic fan? Why do YOU still support this franchise after all that has happened with it. With all the ups and downs and the constant hate that it has gotten, what is keeping you from jumping ship and hating Sonic the Hedgehog like everyone else?
  3. Normal text to accommodate a boring theme? Fine. My point stands, though. Everything that's been said about this game has already been said and pointed out thousands of times in countless ways. Drop it already.
  4. *sigh* Do we really need ANOTHER forum topic to bitch about this game? The record's been broken for a looooooooong time, people. Let it go.
  5. I'd play fan games, because Classic Sonic hacks are a dime a dozen. I'm still waiting for some Advance hacks.
  6. This is the roster I have in mind: Sonic the Hedgehog Type: Balanced Rushdown Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik (boss) Type: Armor Miles “Tails” Prower Type: Trap/Rushdown/Armor Amy Rose Type: Stance/Rushdown Knuckles the Echidna Type: Stance/Balanced Rushdown Vector the Crocodile Type: Grappler/Juggler Espio the Chameleon Type: Rushdown/Mixup Shadow the Hedgehog Type: Rushdown/Zoning Rouge the Bat Type: Juggler/Rushdown Blaze the Cat Type: Rushdown Big the Cat Type: Grappler/Trap Cream the Rabbit Type: Juggler/Pet Knuckles and Sonic would be the main characters of the story.
  7. I'm surprised that this isn't a thing already, but, here goes. If you are a certain forte, niche or specialty that you can use for someone's game 'round here, share your talents here so people can find you easily. I'm a writer, so I can help with plots, dialogue and scenarios. I also dabble in graphic design and video editing.
  8. Meh. Not really interested, for a few reasons: I've played the Classic games to death, so they can't really surprise or excite me, anymore. CD HD was nice, but that was enough. Keeping the Sonic 1 and 2 remakes mobile only was an irritating move. Frankly, I'd much rather see something new. I can't imagine what features could go into such a port, outside of the standard lock-on stuff.
  9. Ok, I'll be more specific. I wanted to be broad so my concepts don't get stolen, but screw it. I might as well put all my cards on the damn table. The game I'm wanting to make has elements from various fighting games: Street Fighter, The King of Fighters, Guilty Gear, and Marvel Super Heroes. There would be multiple game modes, an item system, a detailed tutorial for beginners, and a character roster of 14 (including bosses), each with a different playstyle. It can be made in any of those engines, but I'd rather not explore M.U.G.E.N. just yet, as it doesn't seem quite stable enough. I'd need a team with a programmer, a spriter (for KOF quality sprites) a stage artist and a musician for some remixes and original themes. Aside from the concepts, I'd be writing the story and dialogue for the cast. Er, is that enough info?
  10. Hi. I'm here because I have a project I need help on. I've written up multiple concepts for a Sonic fighting game akin to Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, The King of Fighters and the like. Unfortunately, I lack the programming knowhow to get it started. Would anyone be interested in helping out?
  11. I'm here to get assistance with my Sonic fighting game project. Beyond that, I can help with stories.

My ideas can work for both, but for the sake of simplicity, 2D.

I'm afraid not. I'm no programmer.

  12. Hi. I'm Ryan, leader of Concept: "Mobius". I hope to be of some assistance here. *bows*
