  1. Got Lightning Returns at release. Game definately has some majora's mask vibes going on as you try to piece together all the pieces of a given quest. I haven't completed any of the major quests yet (each involving a different character from the XIII universe) But after reading that the bosses for each on get drastically harder at later dates, I may have to get on that. While there is a timelimit, its not strict at all, It seems possible to do each main quest in a day each, leaving you with the majority of time to do other things, and the passing of time is quite interesting as it affects the positions of people and times of events, even the train system, which has trains moving in and out every 15 minutes, its just very cool to see it all in motion. Oh and that battle system is slick. I've also been playing some Battlefield 4, probably the best shooter I've played IMO. (when it's not bugging out/crashing D:)
  2. I Noticed a few bugs/quirks last time I was playing. First; sometimes when the mid-bosses (snake thing) death animation plays and its head lands, part of its head is covered up by the foreground. Basically the tunnels that normally cover the boss up when it's attacking and such, are drawn on top of him. I would double check the layering of the boss and tunnel tiles/objects to make sure the boss is drawn on the top layer when he takes the hit. Secondly; the bike seems to be able to fly into a wall, and then ride up the wall into a 90 degree ceiling and continue along the ceiling as if this is a normal thing for bikes to do. Third; I knocked down a log with Carol, and pounced as it was falling. I went through the log whilst pouncing. The could be probably be fixed by making it so carol cant pounce after knocking into a log.
  3. I'm a little sad that that online leader-boards was not a stretch goal. Congrats on the successful Kick-starter though, and I wish you luck with greenlight.
  4. I like the blue, it looks nicer in that hue, and doesn't blend with the main character. Maybe the foreground could change colors though, to make it stand out from the background too?
  5. THE FUCKING FUCK TRUCK? WHAT AM I MISSING?! HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBRU? In all seriousness I would like some explanation on this, because I seriously don't believe I could beat that time evenif I nailed my route perfectly like a machine.
  6. I've been playing a few 2D sprite based games for the PlayStation. I noticed the sprites used only a few colors, while the background uses many colors or textures and ends up looking fairly detailed, even though the console still has a fairly small resolution. I wondered how a similar type shading/texturing would look on something sonic inspired. So, this is what I came up with. What do you guys think?
  7. I have a feeling that sliding around a loop is going to look really weird...
  8. Bro fist for a Gradius-spinoff reference! Seeing as Konami is a Japanese based company, I'm quite certain the difficulty would be translating to English, not the other way around, and I'm quite positive the game has a completely different American name, "Life Force". ...And a lot of Japanese titles seem to do that. I think it might be because the developers think its fancy this way. Hell, the title of the original Japanese star ocean games is written entirely in normal English print, and the original (as well as the first release of SO3) was never even released in English.
  9. well techically only half of it is in Katakana so it literally translates back to: "A planet named 'Fureedomu'" Considering the way Strife described it, the name should all be in Kanji. At which point it would mean: "A planet that is free" ... But honestly I would find it hilarious (in a sick racist manner) if it was spelled out in Katakana as "Fureedomu Pulanetu" and didn't mean anything beyond a name. Also your actual planet name seems oddly familar: Avalice - Ivalice. (lol final fantasy XII)
  10. EuroGamer Says hi: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-08-09-freedom-planet-is-an-indie-sonic-esque-platformer-done-right Love how he describes dragon valley as a Green-Hill-esk stage. Because you know, freedom planet is a sonic game. I would like to see somebody review it without comparing it to sonic, which apparently is the only platformer staring an animal ever. Of course I'm totally guilty of that comparison too.
  11. just hitting esc and re-selecting the stage, however, resetting the game fixes it for both. and awesome times everybody. I think some sort of way to recognize everyone's times would be a good idea. Sena you just need to think that every enemy will kill you. At least that's what I discovered....I try to fight one enemy and it will destroy me XD. So I run. Or Fly. whichever I feel like.
  12. Slo mo reset bug still exists, makes me wonder if the power up/ air swimming are still present too. (this happened when playing as Carol but selecting Lilac didn't solve it either) -after further testing the power up was fixed, but air swiming and the slo mo still seem bugged upon reset. and a new bug: pausing and un-pausing at end of level tally cause the animation to reset, but the results still tally simply causing it not to draw. Obviously not game breaking, but odd non-the-less. Carol behaves oddly when stuck to an uneven surface, I've yet to break anything with it, but I've performed some pretty bizarre looking jumps when jumping into various celings. For example, the ceiling to the right of her. Jumping from the wall towards the ladder often results in her running along the ceiling, and then up through the gap where the ladder is. This makes a snazzy shortcut, but I don't think its working quite as intended.
  13. AWW GEEZ. I hit him half a second earlier and I have you beat. :[ Edit- >
  14. It would be awesome if we could get more people into it though. I know there's a few people on youtube with speedruns as well. I really like the challenge and length of this level for speed-running. Its addicting difficulty reminds me of crisis city act 1 in sonic generations, both stages are super hard, but damn does it feel great to pull of a new best time. ...Cept this stage has you fight a dick of a dragon. Twice. >:[ I also like how different the playstyle is between the two characters, making some players better with a certain character.
