A fan had a conversation with Ken Balough who then revealed that Sonic 4: Episode III was planned to happen but for reasons “that can’t be discussed” it was cancelled.
So it appears that Sonic 4: Episode II‘s plot holes won’t be answered any time soon.

Jump into a conversationI am actually sad lol. I really enjoyed episode II and I am sad that the story will never be finished. I wonder how much they did before it got scrapped
